Easy job? I'll have a flick through Haynes and see what that says.

So the pipes got flushed through and reconnected, took her out for a good drive around the local lanes so the engine was nice and hot & didn't get any hot air coming through :) got back home and told Dad that flushing the pipes hadn't worked, so he simply tucked the hose underneath the air filter box, meaning the water didn't have to be pumped upwards, and hey presto! working heater :o so glad it was a simple fix like that.

Gonna get showered and crack on with some college work and then I'll toy about with these decals later & contemplate using either my metal or stick on numberplate.. hmm |

dude the work you've done on this car is insane, really brought it back bbetter than it was!
can't wait to see what you do next, really does teach you to maintain a car owning a mini, it's one big learning curve.

what are the plans then? flipfront....

Thanks a lot mate, really appreciate that. It honestly doesn't feel like much has been done though, I guess it's mainly things that don't make a difference visually like tyres, brakes, cooling system etc.. but that'll change soon when the front gets done =].

Well the plan is this.. I'll be placing a big order from Mini Spares this week and then picking it up from Bingley Hall on the 25th, this means I'll save a ton on postage, It'll be all the brightwork for the front, grille & badges etc.. then I'll start putting the front end together, cutting the holes out and assembling it in my room. Once I get paid again at the end of February I can then buy panels, hopefully by this time the extension will be done and I'll have full use of the garage.

I think I'll get it through it's MOT first which is sometime in February, meaning that it's road legal and I know that I'm over a milestone, then I can carry on with the front. I know I'll fail on a few things so I'll need to save some extra cash just encase, but yeah it's all go go go now.

Your hazard flasher unit works??? May be worth trying a spare if you have one, as it may not be anything to do with the electrics...its a possibility as you have fixed the other stuff...

Yep that works, replaced it a few times & I've even swapped it with the indicator unit, still nothing.

When I found that inline fuse had melted I cut each end off, so I was left with 2 ends of bare wire. I didn't connect them or replace it with another inline fuse until a few days later, the strange thing is.. that inline fuse was for the dip/dim headlights, which worked.. so even though the wires weren't connected, the dip/dim and all the other electrics (bar the hazards) worked fine, confused? I am.

Yeah it's a shame, there would be a massive market, but that means it better for the people who have them 'cause they are less common!

It's going to be a mission to fit them though, not sure how I'll go about fixing the top 'arm' to the underside of the front..

Those hinges look great. Are they more for race application? Almost looks like you would have to rivet them to the bonnet.

I'm hoping to get away with showing no external fixings! I'm trying to make this as low key as possible, so I was thinking about applying some tigerbond to the arm and bonding it to the fiberglass. I've got some fibreglass here and Dad seems to be pretty handy with it so it could be that where the arm sits an extra few layers of fibreglass are applied, bit more strength that way.

I also need a latch or something I can attach to the underside of the A-panel onto the front to keep either side down and firmly in place, any ideas?

Hold on that's a silly idea, if I go adding extra layers of fibreglass then it'll make the whole thing sit higher.

I'll PM a few people who I know have done this, see if they can help.
