If i can get mine out in one peice then there yours lol

That sounds like a freebie to me ;D

Good choice on the binnacle, i personally wouldnt bother with airvents and cover up the holes, just open a window its the same air coming in its not air conditioning, all you need is the heater and that doesnt come through the vents. It will look neater then with the whole dash lined.

Plus, with the vents blanked off you'll never have to experience "Oh no, I've gone through a puddle and now I have a wet leg!" fever ;D

Good plan, it'll also feel up a bit more space in the engine bay & I can loose the tubes running under the flip front.

Cheers Jupitus! I think I'll be fine mate though mate!

& it's really not ;D but I'm getting there little by little.

Noticed a problem with the heater on the way back from Leicester today, when it's set to 'screen' or 'car' the passenger side has been blowing out hot air but my driver side has just been blowing out cold :) & the one in the middle is also hot, what's going on? I've never studied the heater well enough to try and figure out what's happening.

Image, the only thing I suggest leaving open is the air feed for the heater, you'll find it on the inner wing on the driver side.

I'm going to make a blanking plate for mine, didn't want to weld it up in case I ever want to have a fresh air feed to the heater again. But with the air vents being useless, you're not losing anything really, and as you say, freeing up the space under the wing that colossal pipe takes up is a good move >_<.

My Dad has a friend whose good with welding so when the front is off he'll be round doing most of the welding until Dad and I feel confident enough to do it ourselves.

Trying to persuade my Dad to get Ben over to weld the MK1 lights on, but he's not having it.. so this is where you helpful lot step in, once again >_<

So at the moment my reverse lights don't work & I've got a switch wired up so I can flick it whenever I do reverse, I forget half the time anyway so it's rather pointless.. will I pass the MOT like this? I really want to get these MK1 lights welded on so then I won't have a Reverse light anyway and can't fail on it not working, but again my Dad isn't happy and says I should get a reverse lamp, which are Illegal right? I don't even see why I brought the bloody things, might see if I can get a mate round whose handy with welding and do it one weekend.

Dude, what you gunna do when it's raining really heavy and your windows steam up? You can't open the window because you will get drenched and you can't see because the windows are steamed up.

Andrew I'll just turn the windows down a centimeter and whack the heater on ;) the air vents have been taped over anyway for the past month or so because I had my dashboard & speakers fitted, haven't had any problems :D.

Picked up a few nice bits today, didn't really need half of them but I couldn't leave with nothing ;)

Headlamp bowls, tie rod bushes, 12" steering wheel, K&N cone & some braided brake hoses for the front.

Gonna give the steering wheel a good strip down and refurbish it, that's tonights project :)
