I had that air filter on my 998, made a nice noise, hows yours?

Wheel is nice, but the centre is missing.

Makes a bloody nice noise too! Going down the road in 3rd, I was accelerating enough to the point where I needed to change up and then easing off, the noise it makes when the air is sucked in is brilliant, love it!

& I know :D I've got a little plastic cap that goes over the nut to tidy things up but I'm not bothered, just come upstairs to get a can of spraypaint from my room 'cause I'm out in the garage stripping it all and repainting it, looks cracking.

Andrew I'll just turn the windows down a centimeter and whack the heater on ;) the air vents have been taped over anyway for the past month or so because I had my dashboard & speakers fitted, haven't had any problems :).

Ah okay i didn't know that lol.

Nice to see you got some stuff from bingley :D

Yeah you may need to slightly adjust your mixture aswell.

k&n cones sound gorgeous with a nice exhaust :D, would recommend getting a richer needle because its probably running quite a bit lean, got an AAM on mine and I think its perfect. You will feel it in the performance aswell.

Thanks for the above, well seeing as I can't afford a stage 1 kit all at once I'll buy it little by little. AAM needle, I'll have a look on Minispares, are they a task to fit?

Just been out in the garage stripping down and cleaning up the steering wheel, went a little something like this..

Easy to fit. 3 screws on the dashpot, lift that off. Then a screw on the side of the piston that holds the needle, then it should slide out, watch out for the spring behind the needle. Mine was corroded in so had to use pliers to pull it out, if it is just use a bit of oil round the coller that the screw goes into to hold the needle. If you follow haynes you wont go wrong.

Paul.

I have that steering wheel! Mountney 10" or something? Feels so nice when you're driving, not so much on manouvers though!
Might have to put my old one back in when the Mini's back on the road. I'm too used to Mum's bus (306 estate )

It's a 12"! might buy another smaller one at a show if I see one, maybe a 10" or something.. just for fun  It was only a tenner so not much really :dontgetit:

Brought a couple of bits from Mini Spares last night, AAM needed, reverse lamp & a matching fog lamp.

I'm gonna get some qoutes for welding my rear MK1 lights in, anyone reccomend someone in the East Midlands?

Couple of bits turned up today, not happy with the lights, they're massive & I wanted something smaller & more discreet, only a few quid each so not a big loss.. AAM needle is what I'm most excited about & the mirror too, nice little retro touch.

Binnacle & loom should be coming soon also

Just been out & very quickly fitted the mirror & needle, mirror needs some adjusting but looks cool  & the needle went in with no problems, can't wait for the drive to & back from work! it'll be nice to see if how different it is.
