Thanks for that Jono!

Looking forward to wiring this up, I'll have a search for someone whose done it on here or a guide but I'd imagine it's pretty straight forward.

no problem

as for that steering wheel i got something similar at beaulieu for £3 .dont go for a 10" i know from talking to my dad that theyre a nightmare. cant go wrong with 13" to be honest. anything smaller and your asking for trouble.
just my advice. if you dont want to listen and go ahead its all fine do what you want

I've driven with a 12" for a year, didn't mind it at all.

I've changed to a 13" now just because I prefer the steering a little lighter.

thats what im on about....
12" is perfectly fine when your moving, but its the standing still thing, like at junctions for example thats harder.
not trying to put anyone off im just saying :)

Yeah I was thinking about buying a 10" just for the odd use and giggle, can't imagine I'll get far with it.. haha, I think the 12" is spot on!

Regards to the Center Binnacle (something I didn't consider) will I need to change the speedo cable?

Oh and the MOT is this Wednesday the 4th! :)

You'll need to change it yes

You need one with a knurled screw fitment, rather than push fitment, it's also shorter so it doesn't kink

About £8 from minispares, i think i have one you can have for a fiver posted, pretty much brand new, as i bought it when i changed mine to centre, used it for about 2 months, then put my new dash in and needed to buy a longer cable

let me know mate

Cheers fella :) I'll be out with my Dad on Sunday replacing & fitting a few things in preparation.. then it's just fingers crossed and I hope it won't damage my wallet too much.. it'll be good in a way to see it fail though I guess, gives me a definite list of things that need attention.

Going across to Grandmas to use her Garage for the day, it's warm, spacious & dry! It'll be a long day so it's better than freezing our nuts off on the driveway here, also means if something is gonna take a little longer we've got the lights & can come back tomorrow if needed.

So I'll update with pictures when I'm back home, should be a good day :D

Bit of a half & half day today, didn't really get much done but I guess every little helps.. had a big problem with the off-side nut on the tie rod end closest to the wheel hub, Dad must have spent at least 2 - 3 hours trying to get it loose but everything tried just didn't work.. so only the near-side tie rod bushes & one on the off-side have been replaced, gonna have to get some help for that. Aside from that nothing else happened, tried to sort the handbrake but that didn't work, tightened up the cable, it holds when it's on a slight hill (3 clicks) but apply it when you're driving & nothing happens.. errh.. yeah that's all really, wasted all our time on that bloody nut.

Some pictures anyway..

First time she'd been in a garage since I've owned her! It did made things worse that we hit a wall with that nut.. something so simple! gotta go out this afternoon & do some little jobs, replace the numberplate & check tyre pressures..

Center Binnacle & loom has finally been posted so I hope that arrives this week ;)
