Nevermind bud, on the rbight side though the major stuff isn't too major. New boot floor, maybe new subby. Both pretty easy to source and fix (as long as a welder is handy for the boot). Front subby is coming out anyway.

It was coming off the road anyway and plus it gives you something to do whilst the new flipfront is sent off for painting

Yeah it should be a good little project & I'm happy I'll have a garage to work in! won't be painting the front, I'll be leaving it in the white gel coat, gonna have patches of primer here, there & everywhere but I don't mind, shows it's a work in progress

Probably pick up a good 2nd hand subby & have it sand-blasted? pretty sure the one that is there now isn't in a good state.

Retro with the mismatch paint job haha.

Mayswell save some penny's and get a wire brush to clean up the 2nd hand subby. Might take a day but it saves 30 squids or however much it is to have it sand blasted.

Good plan, I'll see what state the one I've got in now. That'll be the joy of being able to leave it in the garage over night! haven't gotta make sure I finish the job & tidy up all the tools every night.

Front or rear first?

Hmmm ... i'd do the rear because then you get the worst of it out the way first then you get to spend as much time as you want perfecting the front. Plus there's less chance of scratching the new front if it's not on lol.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, doing the rear is an easier job.. well easier than the front, & once that's done it's just the front end that needs attention.

First of all is the smaller jobs that I failed on & some other bits like the Center Speedo  won't have the garage for probably another month so that'll tie me over.

Tie you over haha, like it.

Yeah sounds the best way to do it. Well, it's the way i'd do it anyway lol.

Can't wait to see it when it's finished. You going to IMM this year?

You can pick up a sound 2nd hand front subby for about £50, i got one from bingley that was £60 but knocked it down to £50 and it had been sandblasted and powdercoated, so basically like new.

I agree with doing the rear first.

Good Luck with it

Yes yes yes! :) It'll probably be my last Mini show in a while, I'll be headed to Uni the month after & I promise I'll say hello this time :P

Well it's snowed again overnight here so the postie won't deliver.. don't think we've had post this week.. doesn't seem to stop other cars getting up the hill ;) I really want something to tinker with all day & the Center Binnacle would've been ideal! ;)

Might place an order from Mini Spares.. :P :)

I've seen one near my aunties house i'm going to have a look at. Looks like it never moves off the drive lol.

Looks like i'll be travelling past leicester to get to IMM, I'll join in the convoy if there's a space :).

PARCELS :shifty:

So excited to open these when I got home, first of all & the less exciting, radio holder.. I'll scrub this down, primer it & spray it black so it's subtle & sits nicely underneath the dashrail.

And secondly, center binnacle & wiring loom :genius:

This will be a nice little evening/snowed off college project I can do in my room, going to strip everything & give all the bits a much needed polish & clean up. Are parts readily available for these gauges? I know Smith don't produce them anymore but does anyone else?

Uploading pictures now :)
