Why not get a second car thats not a mini? Not as fun, but will be cheaper!! Also could start preparing your mini ready for when you can get welding =] Theres the easter hols in a few weeks (is that 2 weeks?) could get a lot of work done then! :D Hope you manage to get her sorted nice and soon :1eye:

Which uin you going to?

Because I'd rather have a mini :D Yep that's what I'll be doing, I can take the petrol tank out the boot & start poking out all the rusty metal so I know what panels to replace.

& I've got my fingers crossed for Lincoln :1eye:

Hey fella - that wiring picture shows me where I have given you wrong connectors... yoiu have a light green and a dark green in the loom with female spades at each end. They should each have a male spade and connect to the voltage stabiliser as I can see, then the female spade end goes to the fuel gauge and temp gauge respectively. Drop me a PM and I will send up the male spades you need :P

It's okay mate I'll have some male spades in the garage :1eye: but much appriciated!

Done a nice bit of work this evening, removed the top dash rail (which was a mission in itself) but looks fantastic now :D bit miscoloured & scratched but it looks fantastic, sorted the hazard/alarm problem I think.. so all my electrics are working :D & I started wiring up the Center Binnacle, I'll be out tomorrow morning nice & early finishing it off.

Pictures are uploading now =]

Some pictures then.. including the nice hole Mr.MOT man created on the passenger side footwell, ah well, at least it matches the otherside :P

Cheers lads, probably not much tomorrow apart from that! Can't really do any stripping down till Wednesday because that's when the MOT runs out.. think I'll spend the morning wiring it up & see if I can find some more jobs to do after that, any suggestions?|

Are you going for a complete interior stip down? If you are, take the rear seats out, etc, or start sorting some of the boot out? Not a lot really you can do until its off the road.

Started wiring up the Center Binnacle this morning, can't wait to get it all wired up & mounted in! Ran out of connectors so I've rang Dad whose already in town and asked him to pick me some up, so I can finish the job when he comes home.

Don't think I'll bother wiring up the Oil gauge though.. might replace it with an Amps gauge or clock & then have a separate Rev counter.

Has he? haha, yeah he should deffo get a project page up. Well I'm having some difficulties with the wiring for the center speedo at the moment.. not really a problem 'cause it's off the road soon but it'd be nice to get it sorted so I can just take out the binnacle and just put it back in when I'm ready.

Went to look at that other mini with Dad today across in Groby, really nice and nearly original 1985 25th anniversary mini, some rusty spots here & there but nothing serious, it's also leaded.. so it'd need converting, we offered a price but he declined, just playing call my bluff now.. we'll wait and bit and see if he gets back to us.

Well today is the day my MOT runs out, had some problems starting her this morning.. had to call Dad out 'cause I didn't have a clue what was wrong & I'd ran out of WD40 so I couldn't give the electrics a spray, think because she had been sat overnight it'd had got damp & moist underneath the bonnet, anyway.. got her running & got home.

So she's tucked up now and I can start work as soon as possible.. the wall is being knocked down this week & the garage door is being installed, but I won't be able to use the garage because the builders are using it as a place to keep their gear safe, so for now it's little odd jobs & the interior.. need to sort some of the MOT fails like the handbrake & the rear exhaust mount..

Oh and this turned up >_< with some custom made holes for my speakers, fantastic job :( thanks to Bert998 (Retro Retrims) :(
