This is how the heater hoses run on my Marcos I’ve used the brackets of the rubber flap that covers the distributor.

Cheers for that G-J, don't think I'll be needing to do that but it's a bloody good idea nonetheless!

Anyway, come in for some lunch because I'm starving, made some nice progress though

So this is the blanking plate which I need to remove, gave it a good squirt of WD-40 to loosen things up before I start & I had to remove the alarm system because that was screwed into the recess underneath.. might be able to put it back there, depends how close the hoses sit.

Posted Image

Once prised away from the bulkhead I was greeted with sealent & rust.. my heart sank as, I noticed the hole on the right to be in good condition but comparing it to the left.. uh ohh.. so I grabbed a wire brush & put some old material underneath the holes to catch any muck dropping through.

Posted Image

Turns out they're actually different shapes and both in remarkably good condition :dontgetit: *phew* will need some rubber grommets to plug up those holes though.

Gave the area a brush of Ku-Rust and a lick of Hammerite, gotta wait for that to dry before I carry on.. dark clouds about though  hope it holds off long enough.

Job done! need some better grommets though.. but for now as it's off the road it'll do, covered up the old holes with some tape but when it comes around to welding they'll be plated over :dontgetit:

So basically now this means I can fit my Center binnacle without trimming the plastic & the tray dash & liner fits nice and snug without the hoses being a bloody nuisance! Didn't bother putting anything back in like the stereo, seeing as it'll just come out in a few weeks time and it's pointless it sitting there, jobs a gooden'

Might order that RC40.. so tempting..

Might as well.. I mean the garage won't be ages for ready & even then once the garage door is in the builders are still keeping there gear in there, gives me something to do and I'd only do it down the line anyway.. I'll have a shower & pull the trigger on it later

Good one, are you just going for the exhaust on its own or a stage 1?

Done done done! this one..

Seeing as I've already got everything else (air filter, needle) apart from the Inlet Manifold, but I'll buy that at a later date.

Also ordered the chrome ashtray, center speedo cable & a set of 4 braided brake hoses (failed the MOT on this) so when they arrive I can get everything fitted meaning what is left of the MOT fail sheet is just bodywork

Looks good, by the way, James has a spare inlet lying around, I was going to buy it off him for mine, but supercharger is coming Tuesday so no need for it now  .

You will need an inlet before you put your rc40 wont ya? I thought standard inlet's were joined to the exhaust manifold? :D

Yep, just been out to check.. I'll bell up Mini Spares tomorrow & amend my order. Minispares don't have the inlet manifold I need though.. isn't listed on there site at all, which is odd..
