looking smart! speaking from experience I would fit a single HIF38. Brilliant carb, perfect for a 998. Twins look pretty, but trust me, they are NOT worth the hassle! I dont think they make enough of a difference to be worth it, anyway.

Yer thats what I have on mine :( .

Just read through your whole project, looks great. learning on the job like me. :bah:

Will be awesome when its all welded up (my rear valance did exactly the same thing as yours) I love the look your going for, I'm not sure what to call it. Sort of mk1 with 10's and period/tastefull modifications?
Sweeet!

Looking good, keep un the good work.

I may be able to pick up the revo's when he has taken them off and bring them to melton.

Yeah that'd be wicked mate, let me know!

Yeah it was just an idea that skipped into my head, I'll have plenty more months to think about it before I get her back on the road anyway.

Cheers man! yeah I feel like I've learned a great deal, still plenty more to grasp though! Yup that's how I'm going, nice period style with some up to date modifications.

Gonna go out and sort the wiring, move the whole lot inside & also relocate the alarm box somewhere.. hmm. split the wires off in the engine bay for the headlights & indicators because these will run a different course along the inside of the fiberglass front, might also wire up the headlights & indicators, just for fun :bah: they'll come back off again and be wrapped up again in my room.

Electrics are confusing :bah:

In a nutshell today I retraced all the wires to the bulkhead & pulled them through the blanking plate, then sorted them out into 3 sections;

- Front flip electrics (headlights, front indicators & side indicators)

- Engine bay electrics (starter motor, earth points etc..)

- Rear electrics (all the wires leading to the right hand side of the fusebox)

& I've still got some odds and sods to sort out, wiper motor electrics & a few bits leading down that side.

Wow that's tidy! You have so much space compared to me. Damn injection... :tumble:
Nice to see you're getting on with yours. Mine actually moved today! See my video... :bah:

Yeah I'm hopefully loosing that big servo too :bah: just want a nice, clean & most of all accessible engine bay that can be easily kept clean & worked on.

Commented on your video :tumble:

Kinda backtracked today, quite a bit.. simply because I'm no electrician! decided against the idea of putting the fuse box & wiring on the inside.. it's waay too much hassle for what it's worth at the moment. So I pulled all the wiring back through the bulkhead & set about tidying it up, also re-installed the alarm & tidied that up.

Tomorrow I'll be splitting all the wires & sorting out between 1) front flip wiring & 2) engine bay wiring, I'm also going to mount my center binnacle.. which I won't be screwing flush to the bulkhead, I'm going to leave a gap of about 4cm between the plastic & the bulkhead, which gives me space to run wires behind it. It won't be noticeable because the dash liner & tray will cover it.

Pictures from todays progress :D

Wiring pulled back through, all all the wires leading towards the passenger-side are all tidied up and hidden, also wrapped in convoluted tubing.

End of todays progress, just bagged up to contain the wires, but you can see how I mean by splitting them.

& also what I mean by mounting the center binnacle forwards, giving me clearance.

Cheers man :D can only go forwards now!

& a query about small unused screw holes in the bulkhead, I can just put a spot of weld into these and grind them flat?

Why not use some filler or fibre glass?

Haha, 'cause if I can drop a spot of weld in there then I know I've got a solid bulkhead, just makes things neater & I can do a proper job of things :D

Overkill?

Image, yeah, just fill them with weld, if you stick a 2 pence piece to something so you can hold it behind the hole, it'll help you fill the hole with weld without blowing through and all sorts ;).
