Too bulky, I've gotta mount my center binnacle to the bulkhead so there really wouldn't be much room.. also having my speakers either side so it's really squeezed for space behind the tray & liner.

Can easily just tidy it up in the engine bay, not perfect but it'll do for now.

& the big fact that I haven't got a clue about electrics! if I was too completely split the loom up I'd have to finish the job.. scary thought with all those wires, might give it another go in the future though!

Cracked on with a lot more this afternoon, installed the new headlight switch which solved my problems with the headlights & rear lights.. the one before was awkward & wouldn't click into position, had a few times where I've been driving home at night with no rear lights unknowingly.. but that's sorted :o and I also sorted the main beam problem, so at this moment in time, all my electrics work :D

Then I set about removing all the ancillaries from the engine block, which will make it easier to drop the engine out the bottom on the subby.

Cheers :)

Trying to think what I can do tomorrow.. shouldn't be long until I can move into the garage, hopefully before Easter! I'm thinking about dropping the subby & engine out.. how long do you think this will take? tricky job? I'll be doing it by myself.

Good part of the day, maybe two.

Depends which way your doing it?

Do you have a crane or anything?

Also, why are you taking the subframe out?

Gotta go babysitting.. ha, so quickly!

I was going to leave the engine on the subby & lift the mini over the whole thing.. probably rope my Dad in for that part, taking the subby out for a good wire brush down and a paint, also need to access the panels behind for some treatment.

Fairdoes, then yes, you need to disconnect a few things:

The brake pipes going from the subframe and underside of car to the equalizer.

The fuel line/lines

Heater Hoses

Wiring loom

Anything that looks like its going into the bulkhead to/from the engine.

Don't forget to drain the oil the outa your engine first.

And yeh, be careful lifting the shell, with the interior still inside it, itll be heavy enough. If you try an lift it from any of the front panels, theyll buckle.
