What you on about James? 208hp turbo? dump valve?
That was the car in the vid, a 208hp mini with a dump valve, and he is turboing his mini and has a dump valve too, I think that is what he is getting at

Nice to see you getting on with it all! I'll rebuild my one, one day. Need to sort a job out, and get a runaround car for when that happens.

Then spent the afternoon trying to get the bloody hub off.. but alas, no luck. Also decided that once the front subby is split from the engine I'm going to gather lots of bits I need cleaning and get them sandblasted, then I know they are 100% clean & rust free, ready to paint up.
Having trouble removing that nut and also the nuts holding the rear subby mounts on, have a look under Technical & Problems for the thread

So after that I decided to clean up the Clutch Servo, still needs more work but it's a big improvement!

Things actually went according to plan today and I didn't encounter any hiccups!
Started off by angle grinding the swivel pin in the hub off, both sides top & bottom will be replaced in due time so it wasn't a problem.

Then I levered the driveshafts off using all sorts of tools, eventually they both slid out & poured oil all over the floor (which I forgot to remember would happen

I undid the lower engine mounts and with the help of a bloke doing some work on the road outside

Tilted the engine up to drain the oil, couldn't use the sump plug because the thread is stripped

Decided that the garage where I'd worked needed mopping out and cleaning, well I got carried away and did the whole thing

Payday tomorrow

good work ive had many debates with my mate tom and hes made me not bother with flip front so im probs gonna drop my engine this month and strip the engine, stubby and all the inner wings and make it all spot on so should be fun lol
good luck with the engine build

Won't be rebuilding the engine just yet, I'm just stripping down the ancillaries & painting up the block. Once she's back on the road I'll buy another 998 and rebuild that
I'm thinking a BMC green with black rocker cover and colour coded bits.
Oh and what is best to de-grease and clean the thing? Dad says petrol but that sounds a bit messy, ideally I'd want something that sort of foams up and clings on? less mess that way.

I've heard that that gunk stuff is pretty good for cleaning blocks up. Especially out of the engine bay lol.
Colour scheme sounds good, is that the old cooper scheme?
