Looks real good mate. Was going to paint my Mini the same, but can't now as you've done it.

But this is a pic of my BMW i painted in Electric Orange, yep same one. The only problem with that colour is that no matter how good you or your camera is you can NEVER get the full effect of the colour.

Oh and i based mine with a coarse metallic which made the orange pop like mad.

Thanks very much mate, sorr about the big update everyone, as I say not been about in a while thought I'd bring it all upto date.

I disagree really about trying to capture the colour as I've managed rather a few good shots of the paint with it standing out really well :(

I have to say though, the colour does seem to stand out more on a curved panel >_<

Should be updating this thread next weekend after giving the car a good detail

You'r Mini Looks great Southy! I'm thinking of doing my project in Liquid yellow from off the Renault Sport Clio 200's and Black arches and such.

Love you're colour. Goes nice with the black glossiness.

Jamie.

Thanks very much Jamie, the Liquid yellow was the other option for colour I was thinking of but decided to go with the EO in the end, your car will look great done in it I reckon with the black touches

Right well I think I might make a little update here

The car got it's detailing session, the full detail incudling pics can be found HERE

A month later, whilst on my way to work one morning, a chap in a 306 decided to drive a little too fast in the snow/ice and slide right over my side of the road and modified all the front passenger side of the car.

No pic's of the damage, but the wing, front panel and bonnet were all damaged. The oil cooler had been pushed into the alternator, fraying one of the cooler lines and smashing the mounting brackets of it.

Therefore the car once again went to Mini Sport's bodyshop to have £2500 worth of insurance damage sorted out. This included fitting a complete new front end.

After a long wait over xmas for the front panel to finally turn up from heritage the work got underway

Should be getting the car back the start of this week, where I will be dropping the engine out again as I'm having selector fork issue's and also changing the steering rack on the car as it's got some play in after the crash.

I'm also toying with the idea of changing the car over onto Jenvey throttle bodies and running an ecu in the bid to try and get more power and gain some more MPG's outta it.

Haha I know, I've totaled up about 1.5k's worth in paint alone :genius:

The holes were for a sound system the original owner had fitted, never bothered to fill them as it was more hassle than what it was worth to be honest.

Yeah the dash was really easy to wire up, just used the haynes wiring diagram and the instructions that came with the clock itself.

Thanks very much Rabtmac and yes it would of been myself that you saw going down Rochdale Rd towards Bacup, I used to work over that way but now work in Burnley. I do look forward to getting the car back on the road and hope to see your mini aswell

Just another update, was supposed to collect car yesterday, but was told by the bodyshop when they got the car out into daylight on friday the colour match wasn't right due to it being a 3 stage pearl so the car has now had a FULL respray to get it all to match. This was done over the weekend and I should be collecting the car tomorrow.
