It's up to you really Frankie, BUT if you roll your car, that FG skin isn't going to be as protective as the steel skin you chopped out.

Just weigh up the risks for yourself and decide .

Ahh right, so your saying i dont need a roll cage then  ?

no you dont need one

is up to you

a steel mini roof skin does not give any protection if you roll a standard mini the roof skin will cave in just as easy as a fibreglass

its the roof pillars that protect you stopping the car crushing in on you not the roof skin

factorys fit full length webasto sun roofs to cars including minis but they dont fit a rollcage as well !!!

metal and fibrglass have totally diffeant propertys , if you stand on a metal roof will dent it and dent stays there

if you stand on a fibreglass roof it may flex but will not dent and there will be no dent afterwards, as proven by chalie brown standing on the roof of his

fibreglass shell causing no damge at all

is up to you a stated but is not needed

I was sort of talking more about if he rolled on to something, like a wall. But it doesn't matter, the message is the same :-.

Also I read somewhere about you wanting to make a smooth boot, did you make one yourself in the end?

Been awhile so I don't remember, what color do you want to paint it? Or, leaving it in primer?

Thats probs not a good idea as primer absorbes water, so if you leave it in primer, it will rust will kick in very soon and you will be re-doing loads more welding...

Yeah. Try and paint it, even if you get a random colour and spray/brush it on yourself for now.

Abit more prep when it comes to the proper paint job as you will need to flat it all back, but thats easier then dealing with rust.
