Lol, im not sure about europe to be honest :s

When the cars done it will be running in class 3A, which is Modified Production cars up to 1400cc :D

Pretty much all of it is free in this class, only rule on bodywork is that the unitary construction can not be altered in between the wheel hub centres. So cant go carbon roof, floor pans etc

Glad you like it, next big job is the rollcage, but i will keep you up to date

Are there any European hill climbs? Or do they just not have any hills? LOL

I've seen some clips of European hill climbs on Streetfire.net??? Google it, as I may have the dot??? part of the address wrong.

Streetfire is a YouTube for motoring clips and inamongst the V8 yank redneck stuff there some excellent clips of hill climbs in France and Germany??? They tend to be allot longer than UK events as they seem to shut a mountain road and then race up it. There’s some great clips of Group B rally, ex DTM and really fast single seaters.

Edit: I'm on my home computer now and have done a quick serch on StreetFire.

Im keeping a close eye on this project...

Well done :dontgetit:

Right then.. long time no update! So here we go, theres been alot done

Both rear arches are now on and smoothed.. look good I think!

Next another job that took 10 millions times longer than you think, removing the glued on sound deadening on the roof! After hours of grinding and sanding, I ended up spraying it with thinners and then setting it alight to melt it all off  That worked!

Now the roll cage...... wow this took alot of time, pain and effort, but its finally tacked it in ready to be fully welded in.

This is what it looks like, hope you like it, cus its gotta save my life!

After this I have moved on to sorting the front... as you may know, the rules say i can only have a fibreglass front infront of the wheel hub centres, so where most other competitiors have just kept the steel front I have made a front that joins above the wheel hub centre!

This will be held in place with Dzus fasteners and come away from the car to allow acess to the engine.

The last thing ive done is fit the front arches and start blending them in, the front bumper is just resting in place for the photos but looks great i hope you agree. The arches will also split at the wheel hub centre. Oh and the bonnet has the vents cut out so they actually do summit rather than just look good :mrcool:

Hope you all like it... any questions just ask!

Cheers Chris

You get this finished at all?
I'm building mine to run in Mod prod too and haven't really got a straight answer yet on whether you can get away with removing the door bins. Been looking at the GPA cage too but not sure if I trust myself to weld it in!

I'm confused,.. the arches look like they're riveted to the removable section and the rest of the car,.. making it non removable?

I think....

** Retro is stupid... you're gonna cut them up the middle yeah?
