Definitely chrome overkill... :D

Other pet hates: Pink everything, chogga bodykits - I don't mind subtle side skirts & sportpack arches, but the spoilers and rear/front skirts are just wrong as are enormo-arches. Massive ICE installs. Neons. *Shudders* Decal/sticker overkill. Dustbin-sized exhausts...

In short, I like original, uncluttered Minis, heh. Sorry guys! :dontgetit:

That doesn't mean that I can't appreciate the work involved in these things, I just wouldn't do it to a Mini in my care.

Agreed, they look like something that fell out of a Xmas cracker or a box of cornflakes.

I dont think you can just say chrome is naff, its not wats used, its how its used, if its part of a theme of the car and its done well, then yeah it looks cool, but if its just bolted on and left, not used as the theme, then it does look pretty awful! its just a personal view, but union jack interiors, when all the seats and door cards are union jack! wouldnt want to get in a car like that if i had a headache or hangover (no, not driving it if it have hangover, because that would be naughty)

Well don't, because that's what's so special about Minis.

You can do your own thing, personalise them as you want and if it doesn't agree with others, then tough.

It's your car and it's your choice.

to be honest the Mini scene would be very boring if it was all original stock cars, or all customised, or all rat look etc, etc.

The fact it's diverse is what keeps it alive and fresh.

i thought the whole point of the mini scene was individually, if everyone thought the same way how *rubbish* would it be. 1000's of cars all the same. each to there own, i don't really like body kits (any of them they just rot cars from underneath) but i would never rubish someones car for having one as they like it. this is a useless thread and just a way to rubbish others cars and hard work. i may sound grumpy but if there was a new comer to the mini scene this kinda thing may scare them off.

and as for rubishing BMW minis don't get me started!!!!!! it's thanks to them all our cars went up in value and has made shows bigger. great car to drive as well.

It's just the whole 'Chav' thing gone mad. So anything that doesn't look agreeable is classed as 'Chavvy' now.

Just so long as someone is keeping a real Mini alive and is also enjoying it, then good for them I say.

Eh? Now you're going too far.

:D

It's bad news that our cars have gone up in value as I want a Mini for my daughter, but the way things are we'll never be able to afford a decent one now.

I loved seeing voo parked up in the show area of smd.. everyone looked at her because she didnt have the "typical" upgrades.. yet was very personalised

I think aslong as you have reason to put the items on there (even just because you like them) then your more than welcome to put what you like on it!
