Hey..I'm tacky and proud! I drive a Purple city with a red cooper bonnet. I like it. I have plans to better her but...for now I like her the way she is. She even has chrome bullet mirrors!

If you drive a mini you have already made a personalised statement by buying a mini. Love em' or leave em'. Tack is part of the greatness of the scene. Relax .

Exactly Andy, who can honestly say their mini is "finished"?

There will always be something else to put on it, a part to change e.g. an exhaust etc!

Anything pink and fluffy, and anything with the Playboy logo.

That is bad in ANY car!!

6. headlight peaks

Monty has them :dontgetit: , well, he had them!!

I think if I posted what I consider tacky in the miniverse, then I would probably offend the majority of this forum. :dontgetit: So I'll keep schtum. :D

Yea, I was thinking that too Miss Ju!

no offence to the owners of these 2 minis, they are nice, and very well presented, just not my full cup of tea, and a bit tacky i think, especially the blue grill stuff.

I dont think anyone should or could get offended with the stuff listed on here, I have some of the parts on my car like crome mirrors/bumpers/wheels(crome rim), but different things look good on different cars. I put crome on mine to brighten him up because all the orignal black just made him look dull and dark and to me it works.

You could put one mod on one car and it look amazing, but on another it could look cheap and nasty, so its all a matter of circumstances, and how well it all ties in with the over all 'design' ( if thats the word) of the car.

This is a fun topic! and it'll probably give people who are just starting on their cars ideas fo what to or not to do with them rather than scare them off! :(

I see what you mean about the grille surround, it sort of looks like someone forgot to take the protective plastic off it

Some Minis can look tacky - and some dont. Its not down to the separate parts they have its just the Mini as a whole!

I think black and silver numberplates look tacky, when they are on a car that is obviously too new to have them.

I know this thread was only supposed to be a bit of fun, but we've all see this happen before, i don't see how you can expect people not to get offended when basically you're saying that their car looks tacky...as for that "list" Anorak has going, that's basically just slagging other peoples cars, so what if you don't like those things, some people do and that's what makes the mini scene so interesting, sure some get a bit ruined even in my opinion, but there;s no need to be so judgemental.

anyways, i like cheese!

I dont at all think that the thread was made to make people think that their car looks tacky or to in any way offend people. sometimes it is nice to hear what other mini folk out there like and dislike. It's exactly what you said, everyone has different opinions of what looks good, and that is why every mini out there ( no matter if its your own taste or not) looks good and is so oringinal. I think this thread just brings to light just how diverse the Mini is, and why we all love them!
