Hey Oli,

Good to see some progress mate! Reckon a scaffold pole and some rope would still work, but a crane is the way forward.
Let me know if you need to borrow some shoulder power, I'm at home for for a week.

I used a motorcycle paddock stand and half a plank of wood for a perfect mobile engine stand.

hey russ.

thanks, hows your rebuild coming along? yeah if we need any extra muscle ill give you a shout. your free to come round anytime you want though. ill keep this thread updated with the date of the removal.

ah but i dont have a motorcycle paddock stand in the first place lol  which reminds me, im now not going to fulfil my classic motorbike rebuild for a while  ah well, it was only as a cheap project to give me something to do. and now i have a mini for that (scrap the cheap bit) not that classic bikes are cheap now either!

Ive also had a quick look for the engine stand but cant find it. im sure i saw it on M-machine, but i cant get to the same page now. i think it was a downloaded acrobat file for the list of parts. ill keep looking.

although there is one on clarke's site for £37 or something. probably that.

You can borrow my paddock stand if you want it, it was perfect for the job.

Your garage makes me feel very uncomfortable! Was there a classic motorcycle hidden in there??

Got my engine running this morning and should have the fibreglass front from Curley Mouldings on Friday!!!

thanks, might do if i need it. hoping to find and buy that £33 360* one though.

haha, yeah its not the nicest of places. unfortunately not, i would have gobbled it up by now and would probably be using it. ive just always wanted a bantam type bike to restore to glory but theyre too expensive now.

cool sounds like your makiung good progress then. good luck with the fibreglass front. thatll look great! ill be watching your project thread, and ill probably need your expertise when it comes to doing mine too, if i do go down that road :w00t: its a long way off tho

at last, some progress! well...kind of.

my garage (the good one, not the one pictured above) is almost ready for an engine to move in. its taken a few weeks but i finally got started clearing it and got most of it done in a couple of hours today.

also found that old skateboard if its needed. jumped on it a few times and it just flexed a bit. solid for a 20y/o skateboard lol!

ooh, it surprised me to see this near the top lol.

well as a bit of an update, i now no longer have to worry about clearing my dads garage. ive found out my min should just about fit into the garage. so im now completely clearing my garage at home and need to buy a shed for extra storage. then babys very carefully going in bum first so i can still work on the front end. engines still yet to come out but were slowly getting there lol, life just gets in the way ;D then ill be contacting full circle concerning straightening and repairs  so things are starting to look up and hopefully will get moving again soon.

im still focusing on getting a car tho, just cant find one :P im finding i need a car just to travel to look at other cars >_< so i end up missing most things. and there are still two cars (a mini and a polo) i relly should have won on ebay but i just didnt put that final bid in. really regret it now!

oh thats good, glad to hear things are moving again, thought I would ask for a current update >_<

I know how you feel about the transport issue, Henrietta is off road atm, as she's needed her valves re-grinding and re-seated, petrol additives and to make matters worse her M.O.T ran out a fortnight ago!! I've been blagging lifts atc from my mum for the past 2 months and I hate it!

Keep us up to date Olly, remember we had a deal!! ;D:P

so the engine is still in the mini? all you need is two strong peeps to lift the old girl out, I shall be meeting Wilson1275 next week some time, we could pop over and give you a hand lifting the engine out if you want.

rosslin - i have the use of an engine crane, and me and oli had arranged to do it this week, alas i am changing our older car for a newer one on sunday and as a result have nothing to move the crane in. So have postponed it till next weekend i think >_<

be good to meet you sometime next week :D

right the garage is nearly properly cleared

as it is now
Posted Image

all the stuff on the right will be dumped or positioned somewhere less important in the house :D and the white cupboards will be going on the wall midweek or something (mums plans)

looking forward to finally getting the min in there, and have sockets at the back and an extension lead to bring powah! to the front of the garage.

rosslin that would be a great help and would be good to meet you. i just need to get sunday off work! will try tomorrow
