I'm thinking more of damage than the weight of it. You're going to have to make sure none of the side panels touch anything as you roll it back over.

got a few things done recently. I fixed the brake line and installed everything to make it ready for the roll over.

I aslo bought MPI seats because the foam of a MPI backrest does not fitt a SPI frame. So i drove to England last weekend to drop them of as well..

A last minute change of plans. I have bought a '96 spi cooper wiring loom, obviously there are no mounting points for the fusebox and alarm / immobilizer, so i prefitted the wiring loom and drilled some holes.

also made holes to fit a MPI dashboard.

backup plan in case the 101170 doesnt work: ( a cooper ECU thats not coded )

then started on the electric fan motor, sprayed the motor gold and will make the fan the same color as the car (silver)

i actually did spray it in gold but forgot to take a picture...

When I was going through all the injection stuff I came across an injection unit. I cleaned it but it didn’t come out as neat as I hoped.

All the galvanized parts are quite corroded, so is the throttle body by the way.

Anyway, I have some spare injection parts lying around, so I have decided to restore it.

Not taking everything out, I just want it to look good from the outside.

Can anyone tell me where to get gaskets for the throttle body?

Also should I spray the parts gold or have them galvanized?

the '96 wiring loom doesnt run through the roof like the older looms did, so i had to make two holes in the tunnel so it run over the floor.

Luckily there was a late SPI car in the workshop so i could take measurements off it.

I used a stepdrill for the hole in the rear (40mm)

and drilled some small holes in the tunnel and modified it with a rotary grinder.

the plan is to spray the inside in 2k grey, a color very similar to the metalic colour. the spray the parts that will be in sight in metalic.

it's been a while since the last update, but something has been done.

I've sanded the inside and it has been sprayed in grey. I believe i have nearly spent 40 hours sanding the inside, worst job i have ever done.

anyway here are some pictures:

beautiful finish to the underside - I was getting worried that you had forgotten that the car was the wrong way up! You ask about getting parts galvanised - I had all the fixings and parts such as wiper motor casings, gearchange rods, clutch master - in fact anything that would have originally been zinc plated (either silver or yellow passivate) replated by a local company. It was relatively cheap and returned the parts to looking like new.
