how much is the blockwork going to cost?
About £250'ish, didn't ask for price, as the work needs to be done, so I will pay it
Also forgot to say, the valve size the pockets will be able to take will be...31mm

MED didn't take the pistons, so I can fit them to the con rods sometime

Oh right, at least it gives you something to do while the block is being done.

Yes it will
, I think tomorrow I will give myself the task of cleaning and sorting all the bits we took off the engine when we broke it down
, that should be fun
.

I bet there isn't much stuff really is there, as most of it is either at MED or my college lol.

do you know if Welhams do crank work? as MED are quite busy.

Not too sure, I think they can do regrinds and supply the new big ends and mains to the correct size.
Dont know about the gearboxThe gears and shafts are still in, I think its just the casing was stripped down and all the diff housing removed etc.
Did you find out about the S/C pulley? and the 4 pots?

The gearboxes are stripped and then dipped in a solvent cleaning agent which removes road grim and oil staining. The cases are then checked for wear on the idler bearing face, threads are checked for integrity, including the sump plug, and finally checked for cracks.
The gearbox internals are also dipped, and subsequently checked for chips, wear and bearing surface integrity. Those which are showing signs of age are binned. Differentials and synchro's are also split to their component parts, allowing a complete inspection of all parts.

Yeah, I think the rebuild would be better too! As you said though, hopefully the price should be dropped with a few exchange boxes and a cash sale maybe?
