Lovely work Emma, soon be on its wheels! Like the idea you spending some extra time and doing a alarm and boot light etc.
the alarm is a must, i'm not spending all this time for it to be touched without me knowing!!!! LOL,
and the boot light was in there when i got it, it just needed the wiring touching up (and the pinswitch holder being welded in rather than bolted!! DOH!!

this is the boot light and its random wiring before

and it all fitted with my lovely wiring(just hope it all works!!!)

it has got a cover to go on, but it needs cleaning up first!!!
then alarm,

i need to tidy these wires up a bit still!!
and siren

wheels nicely painted, i'll send them in for new tyres in a few weeks

headlight wiring, in the new bowls ready for fitted halogen lights

then front shock on

then i found a 'new' petrol tank

it was the one from my trailer!!!, it did look manky but was rust free!!!, we had another one that looked really nice, so i shook it and there was loads of rust rattling around inside!!! and this nothing

so any way, wire brushed it (and turned myself black)

red oxided it left it to dry in the sun, and it prompty got blown over by the wind and started rolling down the hill!! LOL,
its now half in black and half in red oxide (i ran out of memory and battery on my camera!!?)
then i started on the doorhandles, (which i forgot last week), and dad took them apart and took the barrels and the buttons out(rather than trying to mask them up!!!) and i rubbed them and the boot light down, ready for primer

then we took over the farmers tractor shed (the only proper enlcosed brick built part!!) and laid them out ready for primer

and primed

the plan for tomorrow, is to paint then and the wing mirrors, wheel arches, sill stripes etc grey!!! whoop whoop, and then get back on with my list,
i've gotta make a stand for the doorhandles so we can paint them all round in one go, we already have one for the mirrors, and the sill strips, should sit on the seam strip stand

so dads now using his morris as a daily drive, and my sister and mum are sharing his astra (mum walks to work anyway)
anyway, i'm waiting dads help on rebuilding the calipers, fitting a gearbox leak kit - then gearlinkage, so then i can fit the exhuast!!!!, its quite annoying, but in the grand scheme of things the sky is at the bottom of the list

anyway
so petrol tank

gear linkage ready to go

then the grey bits

lovely wing mirror stands
then door handle stands, (its nice to weld for a change!!!)

and painted

its a bit shiney it was meant to be satin, but don't think it is!!!, so dad put it on quite dry, so hopefully it won;t be too bad!!!
then i refitted the rocker box and weather sheils

and battery line

more wiring

and plugged in the rear loom

then fitted the bulkhead sound proofing

and ran a wire down on the b pillars for the stereo in the under seat speaker board and a wire for the cigarette lighter (sat nav)
then refitted the heater hoses
then tidied up all the grey bits to give the farmer back his tractor shed (he really didn't seem to mind us turffing his tractor out and hijacking it without permission!!!
so i've come back with a list of bits to clean up, and wire (again)
hopefully i'll beable to start flatting it down next week, ready for polishing!!! whoop whoop, got my g3 and g10 at the ready!!!

anyway, they sky
the grey bits all packed away

then the heater hoses fitted

they look sooo good

then yesterday i cleaned up the seat brackets, handbrake, heater, and petrol strap, and red oxided
i've decided to go back to the second hand genuine bumpers that i have, because the fibreglass ones i was looking at were moulded from no gen bumpers, so i cleaned up the bumpers, which came up really well, i used a sanding disc on our polisher thing and it cleaned them up really well, i did find a couple of rust holes and dents in the mankiest bumper, but i welded the holes and dad beat out the dents and it should be good for a couple of year, when i'll replace them with something......
so pic

i've painted most of the things black now, and rubbed down the red oxide on the bumpers and dad will prime and paint them at the weekend when i'm in NEWQUAY for Riv run!!! whoop whoop
so the plan!!!!!
go to newquay, get really drunk, relax and have a wicked (wkd, because i work there) time!! (its so harsh working where there are displays of booze and you can't drink them, there is a keg of WKD blue in the fridge in reception)
then come back quite early ish on monday and start flatting down the paint, and polishing it up, hopefully this will take around a week,
then refit all the lights , do a electric test, then refit the doors and build them up, then petrol tank, rest of the dash, then headlining, glass, boot, interior(once i've finished my seat covers) it doesn't sound like much, but i expect it will all take time!!!
i want to get it done by the 31st, but i'm not gonna rush it just to get there, because that is really stupid, i haven't put in 6 months of work to rush the final bits!!, oh and i'm going to london 2 brighton with my green mini (and so want to fit new wheel arches on it for my bigger wheels) so thats a weekend gone and newquay is a weekend gone, so that leaves 2 full weekends and evenings - 2-3 hours(can do more on that one tho, just, could push it to 4-5)
