Thanks

its quite sad to say, but i'm kinda used to it!!!,

it was lovely when it was dry out there tho, when you don't have to drag the welder through the mud and keep the electric points off the floor so they don't kill you!!!!

i really can't wait to get in the garage tho!!!! LOL

ok so today i thought i twist the door to get the bottom in and by god the strengthening bar has toughened it up, i really struggled to twist the door at all, but after about 20 attempts, (i'm really not joking, my arms are gonna fall off tomorrow, and i was tipping the shell!!!!) i've got the door in the right place!!,

Posted Image

Posted Image

the only thing is the very bottom of the door sticks out, so i'll get my dad to beat it back in, no amount of twisting will get it in, it NEEDS a hammer!!! LOL

Posted Image

so with that lined up, i striped the bulkhead

Posted Image

i took off the servo, clutch master cyclinder (which needs a refurb kit), dip deam relay the brake adjuster thing (i dunno what is called!!!),

so then i got the spot weld drill out and started on the front end, and with a few choice cuts, the wing and a panel came off

Posted Image

Posted Image

and a few more cuts and pulling the scuttle and scuttle closing panels came off

Posted Image

then i'm left with these to repair

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

luckly a new inner finich came with the silver mini, so that will go on the sky, then the bulkhead and inner wing will be patches

i've only taken half of the scuttle off as the inner wing on the passenger side needs pulling out, and we'll line the new wing up with the scuttle, to see how much the inner wing needs pulling out!!!

at this point it was getting really dissley so i retreated to the garage and started on the 'new' subframe, i think this is the one we got from a scrap year for £30 about 2 years ago, fully built up :P

its got very minor surface rust

Posted Image

so i attacked it with a wire brush on the grinder, then the grinder attacked my and ran up my leg, got caught in my overalls and switched it self off!!!, note to self sat further away from the grinder!!!!

Posted Image

i've still got a little bit of cleaning up to do on it (with a drill so i don't kill myself)

Hehe! I did some work and got out there emalee! good progress made again, and be carefull with grinder and wire brushes, been there and done that as they say, had a grinding disc fall apart in the grinder once and a piece ended up in my knee! The joys of restoration is welding burns, wire brush brissels poking ya in your skin and welding flash once or twice, not to forget the crap in your nose and paint and rust in your hair, shoes etc"! Joys!

I think your doing a really good job, its hard work fighting the elements and being outside, free electric is cool tho! Keep up the good work and keep warm! Got rain tomorow they say >_<
