Room now stinks of underseal! Gave the underside of the bonnet a good coat, left it to dry a bit outside, then brought it into my room. :-
Depending on where I end up tomorrow, i'll try and get the rest of the front undersealed! If not, I'll spend the weekend on it.

I PROMISE that I'll take some pictures soon!

I'm keeping mine in my room, needs a few more coats of Stone-chip and then it'll be back in my room as a shrine :-

Probably a silly question but how are you attaching things like your grille? & are you making brackets to put the bumper on?

My grill is just mesh, which is cable-tied on! and I'm keeping it de-bumpered. I prefer it that way.

Underseal on the bonnet is now dry, and I'm pleased with the result! Was my first time using it, and I just slapped it all on with a brush. Not as messy as I thought, just stinks!

Bonnet:

I used Tetra Shultz to coat it, my mate got a few tins off eBay for cheap, so I gave him £5 for one.

Whole front end:

Got all the headlights and indicators fitted and wired up! Haven't tested them yet, but I'm pretty certain that I've done it properly!
Grill is just mesh that was cut into shape, then I just drilled some small holes and cable-tied it on.

Bootlid:

I also bought a carbon fibre bootlid for it, as someone on here was selling it for £50! Couldn't say no really. Have bought some small numberplate lights for it, which should arrive in around a week or two due to some delay with who I bought it off. Also going to modify the lock slightly so it'll still work with the single skin bootlid.

Tommorow I'll probably coat the rest of the front in underseal, let that dry, then Saturday I'll fit the hinges and start fitting it all! So it should be done soon!
MOT's at the end of the month too I think, so hopefully it'll pass that!

I haven't even been rushing through it, usually end up getting out of bed at 11ish, then doss about on here for a bit, then finally get out into the garage at 2ish. So I only really get a few hours work done before it's too dark!

Going to try and get out in the garage a lot earlier tomorrow though! But yeah, thanks for the comments. :P

More updates and PICTURES!

Undersealed the rest of the front end today, also started fitting the engine stabilizer too, but got numb hands and went in for lunch, then didn't bother going back outside...

Posted Image
Finished undersealing the front, for added protection!

Posted Image
ECU is now held on by the old bracket, which is simply bolted onto the remaining inner wing panel. Does the job...

Posted Image
Until I make a bracket for the electric fan, this is how it'll look for a while.
I should be able to get away with not having the electric fan...

Obviously the front numberplate won't stay there, I have a stick-on one for the new front. >_<

Bootlid's now fitted!
I have a unwanted gap at the top though, from where the seal pushes the corners out slightly, due to it being singleskin.

See what I mean?
Anyone got any ideas as to how I can keep the corners pushed INTO the seal instead of away from it?

Keeping the standard bootlid now.

Charged up the battery, put it back in, and she still lives! Let it idle for a bit to see if everything was alright, and something's not right.
Listening to the exhaust, instead of a constant flow, it's like 'pom pom pom pom....' Any ideas what that could be?

Also fitted the hinges, and the stabilizer and oil breather and all clean and tidy, and fitted! No more wobbly engine. :D

Thats a terrible fit, you look to have it right everywhere else, I'd be taking it back if I were you! You haven't done wrong, the panel just isn't right. :D
The only other option to make it work for you is; you would have to use pins in the corners and 'bonnet' pin it in place. With some Triangular shaped brackets on the inside.

The actual mould is fine, it's because it flexes, the rubber seals pushes it out as it's not strong enough to push them in.

Can't take it back as I bought it 2nd hand off here, going on eBay when I get round to it!

Purchase an earlier style bootlid rubber, one that fits on the actual bootlid itself - worth a shot, if your wanting to keep the fibreglass theme
