Should be down the garage tomorrow to finish stripping the engine, possibly lift the block off the gearbox if we're upto it and give it a good clean if we get that far

Went down to see Oz's mini the other weekend to have a look at the tank setup so I know what I'm doing with that now I think, thanks again Oz! Need to order another bracket for the other side though which I'll do this week to take to the bodyshop next weekend hopefully.
Managed to spend most this weekend on the engine though but it was just simply cleaning up the clutch and flywheel housing which included gunking this twice, hose them down, dry them and then wire wool them complete externally and internally. Very pleased with the outcome of them so no need for paint (weasn't planning on anyways). Forgot to get some pictures although they would dazzle you
Will have a better update next week when I go down to the bodyshop and see progress, they must think ive forgotten about it since I havent been down in a month now

Also spoke to the bodyshop and they havent really done all that much to the mini to warrant going down there to be honest, all they have done is bond on the bonnet since last time which im not fussed about as I don't want them to rush it. Will get a few pics when I eventually get round to ordering some bits for it.

Finally a bit of an update.
Couple of pics of the clutch and flywheel housings

Pictures don't really give a good idea as to how clean they are to be honest. But this weekend the flywheel housing had already began to corrode again so going to have to put some polish on that me thinks.
Yesterday I mainly just made a start on degreasing the the block and gearbox
Part why through the front

Before I started the back

Front after a quick wipe down

Back after a wipe down

Next we decided that we would sperate the gearbox and block as werent happy with the seal between them and suspected an oil from there. Came apart very easily infact, just realiased we missed a bolt when first attempting to seperate them (on dads side obviously

Don't suppose anyone knows how to tell what cam I have got in this by anychance? Don't expect anything special in it, just wondering?

Today all we did was clean up the gearbox a bit more, going to give it a jet wash though and let it thoroughly dry. Plan now it to order all new gaskets for the gearbox and block which are necessary with Moss as they are close to us, think im going to have to wait till I get back off holiday in a couple of weeks though as im broke and won't have time to fit them. Then put it all back together and paint it but hopefully before it goes back in the mini i'll be able to add a few nice pieces though including a pre-verto clutch.
Don't suppose anyone has a list of stuff required to convert to pre-verto as the guide on here doesnt seem well finished to me. Was planning on getting a lightened setup from MED (stage 1).
Thanks for reading
Chris
