Not made much progress as I'd have liked today, although I have got the sump guard on which looks very well on the mini and started making a bracket in order to release the front flip internally of the mini :-)

Another update tomorrow

Cheers
Chris

Hi All!

Pics today to bring us up-to-date as to where we're at :proud:

Had Stevede down today which is always good for motivation and general moral with his....ermmm....humour

First off the gf last weekend finished her little project of refurbing and fitting the wiper motor, splendid job has been done as well

Posted Image

Also fitted is the choke and accelerator cable which is a nice milestone to reach :D

Posted Image

One pig of a job was connecting up the fuel regulator which is now fitted finally after much fuel pipe wrestling! (Although this may need to be revised after Steve's visit today)

Posted Image

Then also properly fitted the engine steady by DSN Classics. Revised this when I went to Bingley and got a black bulkhead plate as opposed to Smiffy Bits stainless one. I think it was a good call although I had to drill the mounting holes bigger to accept their engine steady bracket.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Another royally painful job was adjusting the KAD rear disc brakes with the handbrake, think I've sorted it but time will tell really as the passenger side isn't running quite as free as I would have liked really

Posted Image

Posted Image

Now as I said previously the choke cable is fitted which obviously means the dash rail is fitted :D Looks very tasty in my opinion although needs a clean after a few dirty hands have been handling it >_<

Posted Image

Posted Image

Switches are also connected up :D Because of handy man Stevede I've got 2 speed wipers with self park

And finally another HUGE milestone met because of Steve is the lights work! (Barr the indicators)

Posted Image

And my favourite photo

Posted Image

Nicely fitted with the alloy headlight rings :shades:

That's all for this weekend, another one to follow next week :proud:

Cheers
Chris

I know I keep saying this mate. But I really cannot wait to get to this stage, it looks awesome and bet its fun putting stuff back on rather than keep cutting bits out and welding stuff in like I am at the moment, I kind of loose interest.

Does look really good though, the force racing wheels will look good to, if you want to fit one of mine to see how they will look, your more than welcome to come and get one,

Cheers

Louis

I can't wait to be able to turn the power on! Having the lights on is the first glimmering hope of some sort of life from it!

Really nice work mate.

Thanks davej, yeah was brilliant when the lights came on, next stop a running engine (after brake lights and indicators haha)!

Cheers Louis, just got to keep going! May well take you up on that offer :shifty:

Really nice work mate.

Aye happy times, just got to get everything else running now!

Now I amazingly forgot I had a day off today until late last night which was a nice surprise

Went down to the garage for a bit obviously to progress a bit more, but really could do with having the few bits I need to finish jobs off, so there was a limit to what I could do, filled the time nicely though :gimme:

Jacked up the car and secured the gearstick mount as I hadn't tightened it for whatever reason.

Then I made the final attachment of the main run fuel pipe to the pump :D

Posted Image

Posted Image

I've also looked over my 2 speed heater which didn't give a nice welcome

Posted Image

So need to source a new heater matrix which is a £50 pain looking on minispares >_<

I've also used some stainless mesh (thanks Steve) to cover up the inlet pipe for the heater which looks smart, was a bit of a pain to fit though as it's obviously not mean't for that.

Will progress more next week now :proud:

Cheers
Chris

Cheers Graham.

We are using an old loom as the basis of it but lots of it has become brittle or just simply wouldn't look good enough so it;s been changed. Also had new looms put within it for the additional items and the varied components of different marks of minis I've used.

Soooo...

The 5 gang switch panel will be in the post today I've been told so will be ready and waiting for the weekend. I've also rung minispares to see where I stood with regards to postage as it was to be quoted, nice chap on the phone advised standard £5-ish postage which is good and will be on it's way today. And to top it off had a notification on ebay to say my matrix is on it's way as well :-) Happy days.

Whilst I was on roll last night sobbing to my debit card I also bought this with a bit of advice off Stevede

http://www.ebay.co.u...9#ht_744wt_1037

Gives me an accessories switch which will be a nice addition :-)

Cheers
Chris

Ok got an issue with the fuel regulator being in the boot :sneaky:

Basically I need to have the fuel regulator ahead of the pump or it's next to useless pretty much, so best correcting it now obviously. So where to fit?

Was going to fit a D-shaped washer bottle to the bulkhead so I'm struggling for ideas as to where it can go. Anybody got an solutions?

Cheers
Chris

It looks amazing! (in my biased opinion of course)

Cheers Craig, I can't stop looking at the thread over the last few pages, it's just coming together so well :D
