Cheers mate. I'm aiming to have it all up and running before my birthday. Saturday 5th May 2012 haha.

Then I can drive down to Stafford on the Sunday to Himley Hall which would be the most amazing birthday ever!!!!!

Cheers
Chris

Cheers Dave, your comments are much appreciated.

Good luck with the deadline mate, hopefully we'll be both on the road by then, really got my heart set on it now to be honest.

Cheers

Hi All,

Just a quick update. Not much done this weekend, mainly pottering and being messed around with the weather :sneaky: Also no pics as I forgot the camera and also forgot to take pics with my phone

All I've done this weekend is rebuild my heater and fit the new red silcone hoses which look the nuts  Then I moved on to fitting my master cylinders but soon realised with a phone call to Steve that I was missing the copper bush which goes into the brake pedal and as luck would have it you need to fit the brake cylinder before clutch cylinder as there's no room to play with, so was a bit miffed about that :sneaky:

Finished a little job of fitting the heater cable to the heater valve which is another item checked off the list :teehee: Another little job was fitting the rubber seam strip between the arches, which finishes the mini off really well, made it look different I thought in the way of another step forward

Now I've also started fitting the Dynamat which is rather easy job but very time consuming, especially for the start point of the rear seat with the tricky curves. It's coming on well though :D Just need to get a bit further on with the electrics before I fit out the whole of the inside with it though, will do the rear quarters next and that'll be it.

I've also fitted my pull switches to the bracket I ordered last week which looks very well and in-keeping with the look I'm going for :proud: The only problem I came to was that when I fitted the switches, one of the switches is missing parts off of it which is a bit crap as I bought them over a year ago from Moss (not cheap either at £12.25 each!), not sure if they'll honour an exchange or not :errr: Will be phoning up tomorrow to enquire though.

That's all for this week, hopefully a bit more progress-worthy next weekend

Cheers
Chris

Rang Moss today and went down with the switch and all their stock now is the same, but it's different to my others  The only explanation they could come with is that they may have changed suppliers part way through which is a bit naff. Will see if I can sort it with a washer behind or something next weekend.

Also bought a polishing kit for my Cosmics :D Which will bring me endless hours of fun no doubt ;D

Cheers
Chris

BIG UPDATE!!!!!

It's running!!!!

Posted Image

Ok, so not quite but at least it turns over, a step in the right direction haha.

So as seen the mini has got more life in it which I was over the moon with, so chuffed with that :proud:

We've also done some other bits and bats, just seems to take longer than I expect really, still keeping optimism for May though ;D

Placed the battery in it's box, as snug as anything :gimme:

Posted Image

Steve drilled more holes in my mini  for the washer bottle and fuel fuel regulator

Posted Image

Posted Image

Look good now there in though ^_^

Also fitted into place the master cylinders and fixed the earth strap

Yes I know the master cylinders are the wrong way round but there is method in the madness in that the other way they would render the fuse boxes useless, so we're going to adapt the pipes to them to suit to avoid this.

Also started laying down the Dynamat which looks good I think, can't wait to get the rest down :D

Posted Image

Also bought some more bits that are required including more wire for Steve as he wasn't happy with the condition of some of the loom, clips for the cable ties which neaten up the wiring, a length of braided fuel hose to run between the carb and regulator and also another pull switch with the bit I need on because it was bugging me.

Hopefully more progress this weekend :-)

Cheers
Chris
