any update on what latches you used and what secures the front down

Not sure what secures down the front end but the latch parts are from here, I've linked the products;
https://www.europaspares.com/product/0/14698/SIDE_FIXING_CLAW_LATCH.html
https://www.europaspares.com/product/0/13035/CLAW_LATCH_STRIKER_PLATE___9_00724_.html

I'm only about halfway through this thread and it has gotten very interesting. nice choice on the rims by the way

Thanks Tim, much appreciated. Which rims are you on about? Got a few on here haha.

Its my birthday today and since this morning the Himley list is looking a lot more hopeful! :thumbsup:

Happy birthday

Try again in May mate.

Looking really good now mate, almost finished!! I have a PM from you from a few weeks ago but it's blank.. did you actually send a message? :D

I'll PM you now. But yeah it's coming on, can smell the finishing line more and more each week :D

Did do a bit this weekend, but not a great deal to show for it really, it's all stuff which doesn't really warrant a pic. Will post up the ones I have later this week. I did have a brief go at polishing the Cosmics on Sunday and I am very happy with how there turning out!

Cheers
Chris

Hi All,

You have to do a lot to keep at the top of Rebuilds page these days!

Bit of an update for you all;

Last weeks work included getting another pull switch as I wasn't happy with having to bodge one of switches and at the end of the day they were £10 a switch near enough, so no point letting it down. Did think it was a bit poor of Moss to at least not offer me my money, granted it had been a while but it didn't meet the requirement or match any of the others I bought at the same time!

Anyways it completed the switch panel which looks mega! Like a set a traffic lights :shades: The switches are for; rear heated screen, front heated screen, hazards, spot lights and washers :proud:

Posted Image

Also wired up the fuel pump which was a touch tricky to get to, luckily Steve set about doing that :lol:

Posted Image

Super Steve also finished off the rear wiring looks spectacular in my opinion, extremely neat as always with Steve;

Posted Image

Most certainly the highlight of the day was getting peed on though! Good job we just thought about putting up the gazebo bang on when the heavens opened, got soaked putting it up!

Posted Image

On the Sunday I had a crack at doing my Cosmics until the wireless drill died >_< Got on quite well regardless though, there's 3 stages and I got part way through stage 2 and these are the results;

Posted Image

Posted Image

Pretty impressed to say the least. Got the kit through the same place that mike. on here went to.

Then moving swiftly on to this weekend I started with moving the battery cable forward as there was too much excess towards the back which resulted in this;

Posted Image

Not a great start as I attempted putting a P-clip on the exhaust mount to run the battery cable through, found a suitable bolt though and cracked on and got it done.

Refurbed and put the brake bias valve on

Posted Image

Couple of weeks back I got some stainless mesh off Steve that he used on his bonnet for air holes and decided that I would use it on my air vent because I don't intend on using the original long air pipe :whistling:

Posted Image

Also put a bit more dynamat down which is starting to look well :thumbsup:

Posted Image

Just got to do the rear quarters, front floor pans, front doors and bulkhead. Not sure if I'm going to have enough unfortunately;

I also put an order in at Sticky Fingers and got myself a new heater fascia panel in anodised effect red which looks mega, will get a pic when it's on. I also wanted something a little different for my KAD gearstick rather than the KAD sticker, so Martin made these up for me which I thought would look pretty good and to be honest they exceeded my expectations, I think it looks the mutts, I'm a sucker for the small detail :proud:

Posted Image

And finally just a couple of general pics just simply because I can :D

All comments welcome as always

Cheers
Chris

I don't think so, will see what the bodyshop say when I get her running,

Basically I pushing the mini out due to it being a glorious day and when it went over the threshold it aggrivated the wooden floor and caused a metal kick plate to fall on to and scrape along the rear quarter with it's corner. A bit (say about 2/3 inches) has gone through to the primer and the rest a general scrape.

Safe the say a bit of shouting of some choice words occurred.

But other than that it was a good day.....

What a great read man I literally spent hours catching up! It's looking awesome, I love the dash! Half of me feels massively inspired whilst the other half reminds me how little I chance I'd have of achieving this! Great job!

Hi Asa,

Thanks for the kind comments, greatly appreciated.

Anybody can achieve this, I started with next to no knowledge (part of me still feels this with the help I've had with paint and electrics) so you can certainly have a crack.

Cheers Mini 360, it is a rather exciting stage to be honest, I'm running out of big things to do (excl electrics) before I can get her running :D

And on another note I've just treated the mini to this...

Looking forward to getting that!

Does anyone know anywhere that'll be able to do me a bracket for the clock? Just a simple one in crinkle black I was thinking.

Haha.....erm maybe, it was going to be a surprise when you got back from your jollys!

Was actually something I thought about whilst I was in my Ibiza when Emma asked me what time it was, I use the car clock more than any so it was decided it was a must haha.

Ok so took a bit of step back haha

Posted Image

Had to swap round the rear driver alloy and the front passenger alloy in order so the tyres faced the correct direction.

Also had to tighten up some of the bolts as some them were trial fitted.

Then some of the components were rusty so I Kurust them

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

And some bits I had lying around;

Posted Image

Then I also attached the one piece clutch and tightened that up.

Not much progress but every little helps.

And now a shameless plug because it's my thread;

I've also got a fair bit of stuff up for sale so feel free to have a browse:

No updates as of yet to be honest. Got some goodies in the post the past week or so which I'll update with soon.

I did go down to the garage the week after my last update but not mass amounts to update with really, although it's very very close to running, did actually run for a bit previously but just couldn't get it running nice so didn't really feel like updating with that haha.

Will have more next weekend after my exams next week (that I'm still yet to revise for haha).

Till then I'll do a small update during the week.

Cheers
Chris
