You were negligent not just of the car you were "driving" but also of your responsibility, as a driver, to keep yourself and OTHER ROADUSERS safe.

good job he doesnt carry a jack and tools if he's wired up his own remote boot latch, he'll be firing tools out whenever he goes over a bump

Its just unbelievable... How somebody could actually carry on driving their car after the brakes fall to pieces and the car is obviously completely unsafe to be driven.... I know how many times its been said but that was more than a little bit dumb
I could tell you about the time the MG was pulling severely to one side but my dad refused to stop and we arrived home in a cloud of tyre smoke and with one very shredded (not cheap) tyre but i won't....

Some sort of hidden self-preservation instinct... no tools -> no bodge -> everyone survives....
Ah stop, wait; - he's driving the car without fixing it anyways... Must be something else then

To be fair, people who do this sort of thing need to be told in no uncertain terms that what they have done is wrong, that they should NEVER do it again, and to maybe reconsider their approach to things as important as this on their mini... is there space in the back of turners mini for me?

that was an interesting read
i must say past few days ive been hearing noises in mine but its gone straight back to the garage as soon as possible because i get paranoid something is going to fall off. (who knew a back seat could make someone so paranoid)
but honestly if my brakes locked up just once i would have stopped and pulled over.
