Back to Uni tonight :teehee:

Coming home again next weekend for a mates house party, will get into the garage at some point

Expecting my Mini Spares delivery tomorrow, I need to chase Mini Sport about the panels too.

Think I should paint up the roof rack? or leave it original looking like it is?

Keep at it Luke, it will be worth it the end. I've felt the same as you on many a project, out of stock items, lack of funds but it all turns out fine in the end. Perfection takes time

If you ever find theres something you cant get hold of drop me a pm, I'm close to you so i can most probably drop bits off FOC if im around.

Chris

Liking the roof rack Luke. Found one myself in the garage im using, wondering whether to use it or not, although I would have to fid some restraint straps for the gutters.

I would paint it myself, the surface rust may spread, I wouldnt run the risk considering all the work your putting into the project.

Cheerssss :P I'm really happy with the roof rack, need to find a set of rubber feet, shouldn't be hard though.

Yeah I think painting it is the right thing to do, I'd like to leave it rusty looking.. but if it rains the water would run rust everywhere. Not sure about the finish.. maybe a grey metallic or crackle black?

Just won a mint 52mm smiths amps gauge on Ebay too :mrcool: at £5.19!

Oh and the Mini Spares parcel turned up at home

Had a little quick fiddle today, only 15 minutes.

nice roof rack, maybe you should paint it satin black? or have it powder coated?

I thought something along the lines of satin black, as I don't want something shiny. Maybe satin black with a crackle finish?

Bleugh, crackle would look horrible! IMO anyway. Its for dashboards!

I painted my sunroof satin black.
