Nothing to report really.. had a busy week at work last week, normal days with a few 12 and 15 hour shifts from 6 in the morning till late at night meant I couldn't really spend any time in the garage, and I was shattered most of the time.

Then a busy weekend at..

:D

Went down Friday night, stayed in a hotel and went there for the day on Saturday. Absolutely incredible, so many different cars there! all sorts of things.

Few of my highlights..

Haha cheers :teehee:

Did a quick hour or two last night after work.

I'm sorry! but I tried! I just couldn't be gentle with it, I tried to grind away the seam welds, but it just wouldn't come out in 1 piece, so it came out in a few. I'll order 2 new ones and weld those.

Could do with picking up some sheet steel as well, what thickness do I need?

This was the very special Paddy Hopkirk who at 77yrs young was having a blast in a classic rally prepared mini on the Goodwood forest rally stage - He won the Monte Carlo Rally in 1964 in a Cooper S. Such a treat to see him

You want 1.0/0.8mm Luke :withstupid:.

Is that a Mirage manifold you're eyeing for your turbo?

I've been up far too late thinking about 998 turboage!

Luke stop it! You're making me want.

I'm wondering how well the standard 998 internals will hold up to the turbo.

I was wondering that.. I've spoken to Wil H, one of the two brothers who own the fastest 998 turbo.. and they said it will cope, obviously I won't give it beans the whole time and I will go gentle. But after she's on the road, up and running, I'll upgrade the internals as I go along to get more out of it.

That's interesting to know. I might have to look in to doing a turbo conversion later then. I just didn't want any bulkhead mods but I didn't realise until recently that the mirage manifold meant you could do it without. I was sat fantasizing about making my own manifold that would put the turbo where the servo would be on some cars.

I believe I read you can get about 90BHP from a 998 with a T2? That could be pretty tasty.

Looking good luke, realy jealous of your car so far. Your attention to detail is fantastic.

If your struggling to get a turbo carb, I've got a spare one.

Cheers :) I might be in touch about that carb!

Did a bit more after work today, got the other side out and cleaned up.

Out, cleaned, primed.

These are the next bits to tackle!

I'm in touch with a fabrication place now, will try and get hold of some sheet steel soon and then I can start making patches and get some welding done.

Be carful how much metal you chop out before you start putting metal back in Luke!

If I were you I'd be thinking about putting the boot floor back in to meet the old heel board before I put the new heelboard in.

I just wonder how much strength the rear of the car will have with no floor and no heel board. I could be wrong, someone more experienced should be able to confirm for you :).
