those lower engine stedies youu have.

ive got them on my 7 port engine, and there brilliant,

easy to fix to the engine and subframe and do a nice job

Good to hear that :) I wasn't sure how good they are, but thought I'd try them as theres not really anywhere on the head for an ultimate head steady :) the only other one I'm tempted to try aswell is the one that bolts to the water pump, but I'll see how these cope first :P

I've had a very successful weekend!! The engine bay is looking awesome, even if I do say so myself  I've got to clean up the brake and clutch master cylinders at work tomorrow but then thats pretty much everything finished in there >_<

Hopefully I'll get the primary gear bushes machined tomorrow :goaway:

Looking good mate, how did you find the bulkhead sound deadening pad for fitting?

Mine was a complete nightmare to fit, so bad that I've bought a 2nd one to have another go ^_^

I thought it was ok, it was a bit to wide and I had to cut about half an inch of the wiper motor side. I cut it in half, it comes nearly in half, I just cut the final inch at the bottom :teehee: The worst bit was the bracket on the right hand side that mounts the relay and inertia switch  Once I stuck it down it was fine :w00t:

Just make sure you have a nice sharp knife, it definitely helps having nothing coming through the holes though. ^_^

Suppose it would have been easier if the bulkhead was empty, I had to cut round the fusebox, heather pipes etc. Might take it all off and start again with it though.

I have no dash in either, so I drew the larger holes in from the rear, it took me about an hour to mark and cut it, that was putting it on and off about 10 times checking it ^_^ I've just been looking at your mini, and love the engine bay, nice and black - looks awesome :dontgetit:

Great build! love the engine, i was going to go down that route but SC didnt get back to me. What spec is the engine?

And the very important question.... will it all fit under the bonnet or will you need a 16 valve bonnet?

Thanks ;) it's a 1293cc, LT cams(for now :o ) Stage 3 ported head, MED bottom end is lightened and balanced, Ultralite flywheel.

Yes!! It will, but only just - thats why I've used a F/G bonnet, because you need to remove the X brace from the steel one.

Watch this space, because I'll put some pics up over the weekend of how tight everything is :w00t:

So I'm still waiting on the primary gear, the machine was being used for actual work and not homework :)

I took the gear change into clean it up, took the base plate off to wash all the grease out and found this -

Success!! Well nearly, the primary gear has been machined, and fitted. :D As you can see in the photo, it just needs the clutch cover fitting, I'm painting a clutch arm and waiting for the thrust bearing to turn up tomorrow and then its going in on Saturday!! I hope, lol. Then the headache of fitting the cooling system and other ancillary bits can start ;D

I've given myself until the end of the month to have it ready for the road, so three weeks!! Then I'll be out 24/7 giving rides to everyone, think I might charge something and try to claw back some of the money I've ploughed into it, haha.

Like new.
