as its a new build rally car they HAVE to have poly windows or filmed windows to pass log booking...so yes...i love having friends who get trade, means im going to be saving loads building this car

yeah thanks mart...ill give a pass on the stickers  because its going to be neither low nor slow i know about that forum too...buttttttt im not sure im going to go on there quite yet lol im still worried what i might come across on there which may put me off 106's lol

Looks good ;) My mate has just sold a black Gti (he got £1550 though :dontgetit: )
We got bored one day so lowered it ultra mega low to upset the rallye register:

Soon after we raised it to a more reasonable -60mm. Handled like a bag of crap but looked nice.

I used to have an S1 Rallye that I put a 16v in, I regret selling, I threw SO much money at it - Every mechanical part bar the brake servo and steering column was replaced.

It was so much fun

Nah, they are fine with non-rallyes. It's going outside the usual mods that upsets them! There is a lot of keyboard motorsport mechanics who think they work for prodrive because they have a pair of cobra monacos and an OMP strut brace who can't see the bigger picture. We lowered that Gti for a laugh, we knew full well it would drive *melon* (We cut the front springs in half for christs sake!) and we said this in the opening post, but there was still a 3 page thread slating it, haha!
The lad who owns it actually has a car that he actually rallies, whereas 90% of the people on the rallye register just drive to work in a stripped caged car (not knocking them, I did that, but at least I never claimed it was built for rallying! it was built for fast road fun and nothing more)

On the whole it's a decent forum though. 1000% better than 106 owners. Sold 3 pairs of second hand springs - answered EVERY question you could imagine about springs in the for sale post (listed EVERY car they would fit, the amounts they would lower every car, condition of springs, shipping time and cost)

I got about 1000 messages and PMs asking for information in the opening post. Managed to finally sell them all (one person offered £45 posted for some springs I had at £35 + £7 post ;) ) after THREE pages of questions, then one person complained the powder coating was flaking in places (I described them as "been on the car 3 years+") and another complained that they took too long to arrive (They paid on monday, I posted them the SAME DAY and they received them Wednesday)
I was waiting for the third person to complain I only sent them 2 springs or something.

cut springs..deary me lol still tho, the people on 106 owners sound very questionable, not that iv been on there yet but hey, not every 106 owner can be decent, sure there quite a share of chavvy thing they know it all bunch on there. same with everywhere i guess

mines going to be stripped caged 1st of all most likely, again again not sure how long its going to stay that way before i get the chance to carry out the rest of the work, quite a while most likely

i was bored in a lecture today and so started to write down alot of the spec...its a big ol list...thankful i havent got prices for most of it ;)

my friend had another look at the rear beam today, its shagged but not totaly, my friend reattached the ARB to the N/S radius arm...improved it apparently

Tuesday iv gotta:
Replace both rear hubs, just replacing them both for piece of mind...one deffo needed replacing thought, friend today found it difficult to remove the wheel bolt...eventualy got it out though.
Replace the rear shocks, the N/S is absolutly boned...the O/S beam bearing is propper boned! and will need replacing soon enough.
replace the radiator...im getting an alloy one...nissen one for a good price woop! the interior heater isnt warming up but it could be because the rad is rather buggered and most probably low on water/air lock

after that its just about ready for me to get on the road! which im looking forward to
