Also iused an MG metro inlet manifold(thanks Sqweaka) instead of the minispares one i had,
1. as it has an adapter for the vac gauge and
2. because the minispares is a nightmare for doing the manifold nuts up on, it is a completely different shape. Anyone else notice this??
Now just need to get a new temp sender as the one from the old head is rounded off and the other one i have has the connector snapped off DOH.
Have managewd to get 1 of the four tyres to fit on correctly. I just cant get the other ones to pop over the last bit of the rim. Pics to follow
Oh yeah and my kids have managed to pull the choke cable out so far that it wont go back in so i need to sort that aswell LOL

Thats what I did in the end.
The alloy inlet flange was so much thicker than the exhaust flange.
At the time i bodged it by using half a washer stuck to a whole washer with super glue to build up the height difference!

its not the thickness that is the problem. its the shape and not being able to get a socket on to do the nut up.
The MG one is mor angled aswell and sits the carb further away from the bulkhead
Will get a pic to explain the angle thing

The other 2 are/look like a std stamped number on them... CAM******
