I haven't moaned about any of those strikes. I would like to know where you get your figures from, the way you have wrote that makes it seem like the british troops don't even have guns
You can get most of it from watching the news. Almost every day 100's of Afghanis are injured and lots killed by suicide attacks from their own people. I know the British troops have rifles, I have to carry one every day I'm out there. But while in a conflict maybe 1 or 2 taliban get killed, in a suicide attack upwards of 50 can be killed. And these attacks happen almost daily.
As for you saying you havn't. Bet you would have done if you had a Christmas in new york planned but couldn't go to someone being on strike.
BBC News
A while ago but essentially 60% of civilian deaths are because Troops are in the country, 20% definitely due to being caused by air strikes.
Payouts for Civilian Deaths
as it says at the bottom of that article if it wasn't our fault we wouldn't pay.
British Troops killed
From the above articles you can see there are more Afghan civilian deaths caused by the UN than there have been deaths of British troops.
Then you would be dieing in the tube on your way to work. The only shame is that my friends are dieing to protect people who are as ignorant and disrespectful as yourself.
Answer me this, would I be safer with the situation as it is or if all British Troops that are fighting all over the world were in Britain right now?
Remember people, we supported our troops during WW2 and thankfully we're still free from tyrants like Adolf Hitler.
So continue supporting them and don't feel you're being racist for doing so.
WW2 is totally different, the people fighting had no choice in the matter.
EDIT: Reference to an unapproved post removed.

The group organising this appear to be out to encourage racial hatred, as such they should not be entitled to freedom of speech. Britain is proud of it'smulti cultural society and rightly so. We do not need this class of racist idiot.

The pie chart on the first link lists anti govnment/international forces. Its a little vague don't you think. al qaeda is anti govnment as are the taliban.
I also agree with the last post that says that more Civilians have been killed than troops. That is true, but like I said before, the insurgants will take out 50 in one attack.
Emotion runs high when a topic like this comes up. I like to think I am not too biased but i've seen first hand what these insurgants do, and belive me it's not pretty.
EDIT: the assasination part of the pie is on about assaination of goverment figure by insurgants and terrorists. Under our rules of engagement we cannot assasinate anybody.

the people organsing the protest thing may well be trying to insite racial hatrid etc but im sure (i dont know this) that some of the people are just going on the march to remember there friends and family that have died, because for all we no they may have been british muslims fighting for our army or afgans fighting with us not against us

Its good to say that you dont know this because you are misinformed, no british muslim that has been fighting in afgan for queen and country would ever dream of walking on the sacred town to us that is Wooton Basset.

but still dont think about what there actaully doing to britain, as far as i concerned all muslims born here are british and are welcome here in britain, also all
muslims can come here by all means but i think they should have to abide by our rules, at the minite it's one rule for us and another for them.
Also it's not just white people who are racist they can be to but apparrantly there's no such thing as them being racist as apparently only white people can, but when you get called (White as rice) surely this is them being racist.
sorry but this is my oppinion and sorry for voiceing it and my bad grammer, ill shut up know.

Thank you for your show of support, we need all we can get.
But i must point out if you read your last post that you basically stated that the muslims are going to take over like some sort of bogey man. The muslim faith and its followers are not the enemy and the vast majority of them are kind, gentle people and with a sense of community that we have long lost in this country many years ago.
Its only the extremist views (on both side of the argument) that we need to stamp out. If we can do thius then maybe i would be made redundent, although that would be bad for me lol, i am sure we all agree would be a world dream come true.
Exactly what he said, couldn't have put it better myself
I hate seeing people tar everyone with the same brush, its a small group of extremists that cause it and people need to realise this.

Fair enough, I'm trying to give an opinion the other way. I wouldn't normally post in topics like this because I don't particularly care, but too many people jumped on the bandwagon and have said ridiculous borderline racist comments about this when it doesn't seem like they have a clue what is going on.
I know that my comment about troops know they might die will offend people but that is my opinion. If you died in a car crash and it was posted on here then I would think about it and have sympathy for your loved ones etc but if you died in the army I wouldn't give it a 2nd thought, you know the consequences of the job you have chosen to do, just like a lion tamer knows he might get eaten, or a stunt man might burn to death falling from a building, or that idiot who thought he could live with bears but then got ate by one, and even Steve Erwin but he couldn't have seen that one coming.
I have only seen one person on the news whose son died in Afghanistan that I respect and did feel sorry for. There were family members of some other lads that died going on and on about how terrible it was and blaming the government but this bloke said yes obviously he was upset but him and his son knew that if he joined the Army he may be killed. For me that's all it takes
