true, either way its still a quick build and to have it all done right in 7 months would be good but within u'r time scale its unbelievable

sorry yep will do. It has ben a tough ride so far but it will be worth the little extra time it will take to fine tune it. well done.

i have removed the quoted pictures. Please can people not do that as it makes it very difficult to track the changes that Emalee is making and also uses up TMF Bandwidth.

Day 39...........

not that much done last night...

just rubbed down the filler on the rear quarters and re filled :roll: bored!!! they are both really near to being perfect tho - this fill will take out all the inperfections on the filler that is already there

and woooo painted the seams on the front end

still waiting for the solder paint

yeah my epic fail in only getting 52 BHP with my 1330 MG engine - not happy!!!!!

but the Sky was did amazingly well and got 38BHP from a completey standard 998 which has done 86K!!!!

day 40!!!!!!!!!

rubbed down the rear quarters again...... 95% there.......

then ran the sander over the doors and filled in a few bits and bobs......

got the boot all sorted ready for primer - the inside needs prepping yet....

and fonzy with the delivery for the solder paint lead loaded both the scuttle joins and the wing to front panel joins - he has still got to do the 2 seams around the headlight and the bumper lip seam......



then i went around filing back all the seams...





well chuffed with how it turned out!!!

there is rather a lot of filler there - but i'm not 100% happy with the line up of the panels/the scuttle repair.... - but because of the lead the joint won't flex so will be fine

i hate it when people filler over the join!!!

i want to move the seam up..... so its lined up with the other side - i'm not too sure what to do with it yet... but i thought with enough filler on i'll work it out......

as for deadline.....

the ultimate deadline is Easter weekend - as we are taking the mini to Silly Mini Sunday which is like our nearest show for its big reveal!!!!!!

before we started the mini I was a bit disappointed not to have a new creation to reveal... last year was the Sky at Bristol Mini day and the year before my Trailer at Riviera run.. so i'm sooooooooooooooo happy i've had the chance to make a new creation for the year.... - just gotta find one for next year now - or maybe, just maybe i might even get round to repainting my abused daily drive mini

its all worth it in the end!!!

there is already a seam ish in at join. but the combination on the non geniune qing and the scuttle repair has just thrown the original line well off. i will never use those scuttle repair panels again!!,

i'm really fussy over the seam, i spent ages on the sky getting then perfect...

Day 41....

scuttle join 95% sorted on the drivers side....



i'm really happy with the end seam it looks really good!!!

still working on the passenger side....


Fonzy finished the leading on the front end





then i filed all the seam down and ran a quick bead of filler over then



and tanya came up to do some work - so that deserved a filler pat on the back!! LOL



i did fall over doing it tho!! FAIL - i now have a massive bruise on my thigh!! FAIL!!

and the roof



half done!!! - i did a quarter of it the other day so that bit won't take long to rub that over qucikly again and then do the other quarter...

and this arrived today......

the plan is to prime the mini tomorrow.....

the drivers rear quarter is sorted, back panel, boot and bonnet are fine, we need to take the doors off and get the sander on them and they will be ready - the drivers a panel needs a bit of filler, then the front seams and scuttle joins needs sorting and the door shuts and boor shuts need flatting
