Was going to go for a drive but it rained so I polished it

What polish did you use?

Auto glym super resin polish

New carb gaskets, drilled airbox and fitted K&N element filter. All ready for rolling road. Also fitted metro anti-run on valve, and tapped the metro distributor body as the thread for the cap had failed. 

Also watched it suffer in the rain.

yesterday I went and picked up a front subframe with suspension and brakes etc still attached so I stripped that down.

Took it out for a run, same as yesterday. Bliss! Proper driving!

Really need to get on the wash and sealer side of things, it's properly unshiney after 5 months in the shed!

Over the past week:

 

Installed black fillets in the fornt and rear window seals.

Put 2 new boot cables in.

New shiny mountney steering wheel.

Fitted an accelerator pedal rubber.

Found out a vacuum hose wasn't connected so got that re done.

Went out today to find my indicators have packed up (hazards work but when using indicators the flasher ticks randomly and the lights don't flash)

Fitted a proper radiator bracket.

 

Time to try and sort my indicators out!

 

oh, and also when I was out today, had my first ever "under the bonnet" moment when the car idled really badly. Felt good to be in the land of the Mini

Started washing it, I got as far as getting the hose out and spraying it, then decided I'd better sort out the leaks, so did that and found my advance pipe had fallen off and the right angle pece broke so had to fix that. then I packed up

Opened the bonnet, looked around, closed the bonnet. Over two years with no progress

Found rust!  Bonnet edge lip held on with two itty bitty bits of actual steel and mostly about a pound of bondo.  Not exactly the bare metal result I was hoping for...

Re mounted the spotlights as fed up with the ******* gear bought from MITP last year. Will put the bumper back on this week so its ready to use if the weather is dry.

New cv joint. Upper and lower ball joint. Wheel bearing on drivers side.

Then a half hour of zipping about to celebrate getting it finished.

Got my indicators working! Wooooo.

 

Was a dodgy connection on the relay in the engine bay :)

Pulled in to services with water leaking from the radiator, topped it up again and then went and bought a new one to fit. Then realising it was ****, gave up, never buying an alloy rad again...
