Began trial fitting the Alfa Romeo rear seats after fitting the fronts last week. Luckily I have a spare mini with no front seats otherwise it would have been hell. They need a bit more cutting down to get the height right but I'm very pleased!

So here are the fronts being mocked up in Ron. 2014-06-03214322_zps3a059077.jpg

Both are now fitted in the white one.

And here were the rear seats that I had to try and fit:

And this is where I'm at so far.

Played with my bonnet, still deciding whether to buy a new one.

New spacered rear drums fitted so I can take left handers at a reasonable pace, without rubbing the shock absorber

Funnily enough that's the very same job I tackled too! Fitted the new drums, chucked my wheels back on and took a roundabout at a nice brisk pace, and alas - that awful rubbing sound was gone!

For whatever reason mine feels a lot more forgiving on the bumps. Handles much better now I'm not scrubbing speed off in the corners.

If you've put disk brakes on the front, it's likely that the suspension geometry was out of whack with the back wheels further in towards the car than the front wheels. I noticed a lot more stability round the corners too, since this was the case with my car.

Ground down some welds on the floor pan and found more rust when attempting to weld some more of it together.  Also found wearing a dust mask works well to keep away the headaches.

Tested the water repellent qualities of my new doors seals with a watering can....
Water is coming over the sealed plastic sheet behind the door card & check-strap seal...
Next job identified.

investigated a horrendous tinny rattle coming from the car, found that it was the brake disk covers, each had a bracket that had snapped so off they came and no more rattle.

just waiting for minispares to have a stage 1 kit in stock then that will be ordered asap!

Are these Alfa 157 seats? I've got them but I haven't tried yet so I am very keen to see what you have to do to get them to fit.

Can you PM me the details when you have done it please?

Thanks,

Rod

Finally fitted the rear subframe on to my '94 Sprite. It's been a long time coming :-)

Fitted one radius arm but I am now going to have to remove it again as I forgot to put the handbrake cable bracket on - Doh!

Progress though, definitely progress!
