Finally got around to removing the last of the L2B crap out of it! :shy:  Now it just needs a vacuum which is tomorrows job

Removed rocker cover gasket and fitted new one. Previous owner used old grommets, which I replaced and now oil leak free.

Took it out for a drive, triggered the inertia switch with some off-roading/pothole driving. An eventful day.

Tried to get mine to run this morning after working on it, it would not start. So i shouted "No wonder BL went down the pan" at it and shut the garage door...... :goaway:

took my rod change gear stick apart and starting cleaning it. Also cleaned the rods and a couple of other metal bits with a big-ass wire wheel on my angle grinder - and took a massive chunk out of my finger. It bled like a b*****d so I went and watched the Grand Prix qualifiying.

Went Wales in it. Fitted my bucket seats yesterday evening. Cor my bloody arse hurt when I got there and back >_<

Cleaned underneath, sills, subframes etc etc. Not exciting but looked alot better.

Fitted new fuel lines ,replaced the upper and lower radiator hoses, bled lots, poured with sweat, gave up, shut garage door, cold beer in hand :D

Cleaned my dirty engine block. 20 years of oil leaks and grime gone in a couple of hours.

Picked it up from the garage, drove it to with half a mile from home, hear grinding, parked up, see exhaust has fallen down, get some wire and tie it back up then limp it home.

 

Now debating next steps ... :( bloody mini
