It drove around the block. The first time it's moved under it's own steam in 6years  :)

Started washing the gearbox out with brake and clutch cleaner (I know this is removes everything but it's being stripped and rebuilt so it doesn't matter) and I also did some more work on my rockers.

Adjusted the brakes up to see if there is a little less shudder when braking. Should do the trick, as I just replace the shoes and not drums last time.

made up so cool little bonnet pin wires out of my old choke cable and some heat shrink laying around the the garage

 

wow thats very nice.. mind telling me where you got the bonnet Pins from? they look lovely too

I've just fitted a minifin type rocker cover.. have to say it certainly beats the original standard one..

Yesterday I refitted my hub with new wheel bearings and seals. After being up on an axle stand for a week, looks weird sitting normal now!

well today i fitted a decat and then did the most stupid thing i have ever done and tried to start the car while still in gear. ending in no garage door and a very sad front end of the Mini.... bumper, grill, one spotlight both wings and the slam panel so bonnet dont shut. made quite a mess and all because of a stupid schoolboy error.

Parts all ordered new grill new bumper and new wipac spots. So all should be back to normal next week.

Will need one but managed to bend it back into shape. Mini is more important

the valves out of the head.  It really helps to compress the spring to loosen the collets.

Oh man, that's awful. Easy done too. I've come very close many times. The worst I have done was when working on my 306 in my garage. Quite tight for space so I had it close up to the wall on the opposite side to the one I was working one, jacked it up and basically jacked it into the wall, putting a nice big crease into the wing where the wall panels join. 

 

Hope you get it all sorted out and don't beat yourself up too bad, anyone could have done that.

Had to do the weekly shop in the Mini as my wife's 05 S has developed a fault and we have had to take her to the Dealer.

Will be trying to sort heater problem this afternoon too
