Removed the minifins from the rear hubs as they are very noisy... well one is very noisy - t'other is fine... replaced with standard drums and no noise...? New shoes on the rears too, thought it might have been them bedding in but seems there might be something wrong with one of them...

 

Installed the front shims to the front subframe front mounts, had to install 6 on the NS mount and 8 on the OS mount....

 

Rebooked its MoT for Monday at 3....

 

Ready for my little blast around the local race circuit tomorrow on a track day/time attack thing they're having :)

Offered up the front end to the red one, then thought **** it and bought an MGB GT.

Reset my tappets, torqued the head again. Checked the carbs one last time. Can now start the running in miles. ☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺😎

Chucked it round my local racetrack and got overtook by everything (including a Vauxhall powered Clubman), mine seemed to have a massive lack of power at 3K and then at 4K.... was proper doing my head in.....

 

But, on the way home, was perfectly OK.....?

Refurbished my door hinges with 8mm stainless high tensile bolts.

Took mine for its MoT today - where Im pleased to say - passed :)

 

Had a couple of advisories...

 

1 for the obligatory oil leak, think its coming from the gearbox rod bellows but not 100%

 

and 1 for each side for the sills, as theyre starting to go..

 

Will be sorting the sills when the nice weather gets here and I have light and dry days to tackle thee jobs...

 

Otherwise Im quite happy with my little Mini :)

People came to look at it yesterday, had a drive, went away to think about it, phoned up today to say they'll have it.

 

6 years of mini'ing coming to a close, time to move onto the TVR.

Finished installing the alarm...

 

Need to fabricate some sort of lever arms for the central locking motors then I'll have remote central locking :)

Rear subframe painted in POR15 - stuff is amazing!

Then transfered from ramps to axle stands to do inside each rear wheel well!

Mini still covered up for the winter, now working on next project, 1979 MG Midget, the problem is, if I like driving it when it's road worthy, which shall I keep hmmmm

I also finished the POR 15, next job is stone chip - then waxoyl! It's a job that never ends
