Replaced engine mountings while engine still in place. when you get them off you soon find out they were needing changed. Only and four hours of pain

and the removal of a couple of layers of skin after dropping the bolts numerous times while trying to manoeuvre them into place. Wish I had now bought the ones with the captive nuts. But all done now.

I have got to do mine soon and have access to a lift, any advice?

Bought the mounts with captive nuts, also engine steady bushings.

As you have the captive nut mountings you should have no problem with the final bolting up. The hardest part I had was the 3 set screws into the clutch cover as I did it without removing the cover. As mine is a MPI its Just difficult to get hands and fingers in. You just need to persist. The other side is straight forward as you remove the bracket complete with the mounting then replace it. My front steady bush bolt tip was to use a couple of extension bars along the channel on the subframe so you could turn the ratchet.

i can use a gear box lift, maybe ease the load and lift gearbox/engine up to take the old mountings out
