It wouldn't start for some strange reason. Turned out it was a faulty spade connector to the starter motor. I cleaned the connectors, installed a new insulated spade connector, replaced the terminal block and boom she started up, lol! Hopfully no more issues... MOT on Thursday.

It was fitted with double springs. Needed single like the head I took off. It's a 12g202Was this because the double valve springs had been fitted, or needed fitting? Standard head otherwise?
Removed reconditioned head due to double valve springs fitted( company wanted the head back) It was slow to rev and didn't hit over 4.5k!! New one on its way.
Replacement head arriving tomorrow.

It went on a rolling road today to try and sort out all the problems I just could not get to grips with.
Now running very well on its standard Metro engine transplant.
Nothing more than should be delivered from a stock 1275 Metro engine but decent enough and now all the hesitance and "stodgy performance" is gone.
Well worth the spend I think.
Had it fettled at AtSpeed Racing near me in Rayleigh Essex.

Secured the new(ish) rocker cover by adding new washers to each bolt, allowing a nip-up. A slight leak was being caused beforehand. Inspection of new gaskets, etc, was all fine.

Decided it was just a Mini and not a F1 car so set up the tracking using 2 bits of wood and a tape measure. Good old fashioned engineering 😆.
For all the non-believers!

Thursday and Friday are my weekend, so Wednesday night packed the Wife and all her luggage to Kamloops a 2 hour drive away. We spent 2 nights there Thursday drove around getting things we can't get here. had lots of comments and questions about the Mini. We had a couple of T-shirts made with a picture of the Mini that Wifey took. Friday we picked up a few more things that we couldn't buy the previous day, such as real heinz beanz and Milky Bars. On the drive home we passed 3 groups of Bikers most of them acknowledged us which was a nice surprise.
Friday evening we joined the local Friday cruze with the local car club, only 6 cars with it being Good Friday, can be up to 16 cars ,but still fun.
They also have a Facebook page, They hold quite a few drag races throughout the year at our small airport (not for me I don't want to break my Mini), and they also have a show and shine weekend which I am looking forward to showing off the Mini.
