Just got back from a rather enjoyable summer drive in Sonic!
I got home from work, looked at the pick up and thought.... I am going to give it a quick wash. After that it was inevitable!
It was its first real drive. All the other drives have just been gingerly driving it to and from my mates with leaking rear cylinders.
But now with new brake cylinders, MOT, Tax and insurance I could give it a proper drive!

Bought my new turn button fastners today from Ratsport.
I have fitted them but havent fitted the cover yet. I am going to be patient and wait for the right tools rather than try and do it with a sharp pair if scissors!

To do on SONIC next week....
Get the rear to sit right
Fit Fabric tonneau cover

I have some pictures I have taken but I cant find my SD card reader....
:/

Looking goody. Does your load-bay cover have an upward-folding flap on the leading edge?
Is there a right order to locate the holes in the cover to match the nobbles on the body? When I did Huey's I got it wrong (can't remember whether I started front or back) and the fasteners don't quite line up all round.

i'm pretty sure you work from the tail gate going forward? It does have the upward flap also.

I like the black fabric cover. but I might be getting on of the large van type covers for it now also.

Lol. no rear seat mate.
And lowering is a process. you cant slam it asap you have to wait for the cones to settle first. but I will be lowering it next week I hope

I know these pictures are on the ace cafe thread, but I thought they should be on Sonics page also as it was his first Mini outting.

I am still on Jury service this week, and with parking and fuel price in mind I decided to drive to pick up to the court house most days.

today I arrived and there was limited parking, so I decided to use this space! (It is actually a parking space, but not many cars would fit in the space!) There is not much room at all between the lamp post and the wall.

I fitted mmy load bay cover today!
I also lowered the rear suspension and adjusted the adjustable SPAX. There on max stiffness at the moment!

To get the load bay cover on, I decided to string bungey cords across the load bay so the cover would sit on these, making it easier to fit
Posted Image
Posted Image

Then I layed the cover on top and made the holes for the turnbutton fastners
Posted Image

I then fitted the receivers. It looks like I am going to need either two or three more at the rear.
