Interesting.....

I have my doubts, but if you do pull this off, I would love to be next in line for it!
My plan has always been to use my Audi A8 (yep 4.2 V8) for a fair few years then trade it in (perhaps for a newer Audi A8 De, maybe 4.2 Twin turbo Diesel)

But.... if this works maybe I wont trade it in! Its not like I would get much for it in a few years time when I trade it in anyway!

I agree! I think that was the commet was about earlier. There are better ways to say it but so many people come along and say there going to do this and that and 90% of the time its all talk.

Would like to see this mate

Hmm, I never thought I would get a 2 page post of negativity, anything’s possible guys, have an open mind, when Chris at ZCars set out on his mission I bet people had their reservations too. I'm not competing with ZCars in anyway, this is a 'homer' project, a one off, all I want is to be given a chance.

Trust me when I say this though, its in no way going to handle like a dog, I have put a lot of thought into this, and have already started on the FEA model, to be 100% honest its not going to have much mini chassis left when complete, like the ZCars design a space frame will carry most of the weight.

Again I must point out, this V8 is the lightest and shortest V8 available, and will fit in very neatly.

One last thing, we are all Mini enthusiasts, have a heart!!!

if your going to make this work, either as someone said, consider an estate shell or the like or think about getting a different transmission and getting a custom bell housing made.....ahh just go quaife actualy.

id be interested in seeing any of those plans too though but i can guess you wouldnt show them at this early point

couldnt you mount it transverse behind the rear seats? atleast then you wouldnt have much over hang out of the rear and atleast u will have more space to fit twin turbos and stuff ;P.

But best of luck what ever you do matey.

Petrol, with huge amounts of Torque, someone did mention the other day that a 1.9 Passat Diesel engine in a ZCars conversion would be a good punt though!!!

Yeah passat would be good. What about the v6 diesel vtec out of the accords, transverse behind the seats, would be good for about 250 bhp and more torques.
