Hmmmm.......

With all the abuse I wasn’t going to bother updating ever again!!!

Drawings are done.

Engine and Gearbox bought.

Mini Stripped.

Fabricator in Scotland Contacted and fired up ready to go.

For all the impatient people on here 'ROME WAS NOT BUILT IN A DAY' give it a chance lads!!! One thing I have to say is, I am not doing it for any glory, I don’t really want any recognition for it either, it’s my project and it will be built when its built, photos will be added when there is something to add!!!

Well I'm glad to hear it's still getting done.
I know things don't get done in a couple of weeks, it's just nice to see how you are tackling the project. I love all the fabrication, there's just something about making something yourself.
Well keep up the good work and it will be interesting to see the stages of development.

Oh the engineering company isn't AGRA engineering is it? It's only because I've only heard good things about them.

Ignore them!
there's 100s of people that will be intrested in reading this and a few people who will take the ****. While I'm not a fan of engine conversions atm Though I've never seen anything like this and it could be a contender for the worlds fastest mini?!!

OK, so I have to chime in now.....

Babyrich82, I think you'll find there's a whole heap of people 'watching from the sidelines' that rarely post in these threads> Especially when some vocal people jump in with comments that are probably not helpful, it reinforces the 'sideline watchers' resolve to stay quiet but still follow you along for the ride. I vote for keep posting updates, thoughts, musings, ramblings etc. After all it is your thread and we all like to wonder what if.....

Always been an Audi fan as my dad's had a couple, never a 4.2 though!
Definitely looking forward to this, despite the fact you think people are only here to put you down. Just remember, 99.9% of us are here to see what you do with a Mini because it's what we all joined for!
:w00t:
Will be following this.

Best of luck!

Greg.

You said it will stick out the bum of the car by 2 inches.

Cut the shell half way through the rear window. in the center of the wheel semi circle. The arches on the back will stop the top of the arch looking flat.

Given your car will pretty much be a space frame the inner panels may as well be cut away.

It will still look reasonable. Not silly like the +90mm front ends.

I'm another watching from the sidelines and I never post in any projects but I am now just because I would love to see this done, I have owned a few audis and thought of putting an audi engine in a mini so please post updates.

I'll buy you a beer too, you may need to go to the pub alot in preperation of finishing this.. haha
