Still got three >_< ...we tend to buy a third usually in winter we think we can clean up sort out and make a few quid on in spring (bit of an odd hobby/bit of fun), but think I've got it wrong with this one  although hes pretty rare which hopefully will help

I dardnt touch Max, Jane would kill me O_O but I potter on Paddy a bit and this new one I've dabbled on a bit. Its all a learning curve and I need to be braver about not wrecking them by trying

I don't think there's too much you can do wrong really, not if you fall back to ask on here before proceeding with something.

You should set your sights on building a bigger garage

Bad news about the gearbox mate, hope you get it fixed!

I understand what you mean not wanting to remove the engine with no hoist, I got mine out with me and 2 mates, with rope and a long bit of 4x4, was not easy and will not be doing it again haha! Will definitely be getting a hoist or crane!

Like the Christmas presents too!!

Thank you! I have no doubt that John can get it all sorted perfectly.

You're brave doing it without a hoist :P I wouldn't dare try it. For the £150 or so you can pick one up for, I think it's a good investment for such a significant tool!

Yeah was a bit silly really, we thought it would be ok, until we got it half way and realised the speedo drive was still connected >_<, took me a while to live that one down!

Will be getting a hoist without a doubt!

Bah, more problems. Revered off the drive, slight downhill with a small curb lip, and as I turned the wheel: CLUNK... SQUEEEAK.

I've had a wiggle, and there seems to be play in the ball joints (not thrilled with the prospect of doing them again) and a brake that only squeaks when travelling in reverse. She's back in regular use for all of a month and falls apart :P

She's being delivered for the new gearbox tomorrow, so these issues will have to wait until I get her back. Shame really, as I was hoping to have that perfect car feel upon her return, but I suppose that will have to wait a bit longer!

Dropped the car off with John at Guessworks this morning. He had a drive in her and the prognosis was somewhat better than I expected!

May even make Bingley :D

Erm something with the diff pin causing a problem as you pull away and the rattle is something else, may or may not be the idler. And that's the extent of my gearbox knowledge :P He seemed quite positive about it, anyway!

It's going to be inspected and fixed with the addition of a X-pin diff, so hopefully it will just last forever and ever then :D

As well as all the great reports of his work on here, John is a really nice guy, and I'm very happy the car is with him.

That's a nice Mpi Mini. The progress so far has been really good! I've enjoyed reading this project topic. :-)

Thank you! Those are very kind words to hear from someone with such stunning cars :) Your '97 is a fair bit nicer than mine!
