Hi all,

Thanks for the replies, alas heating the tent is a no go and I have been struggling getting the wheels on so may or may not reach paint before the cols weather, we will see. So a small update which I hope is on correctly !!

Posted Image

Yet again the holes on the subframe had closed up with the painting so they needed to be scraped out before the radius arm went in. Other than that it slotted in fine and the camber bracket went on nicely too after re attaching the captive nut a while ago.

I tried the flexible hose in place to see the fit. Not bad but need the backing nuts all round to fix permenantly. Finished off the other day by regreasing the drive shafts either end and tieing up the boots, one tie missing tho at mo !!

Posted Image

I began this afternoon trying to get the driver rear corner ready for a wheel so on the shock and drum backplate went. I am pretty sure the backplates are handed so I hope it is on the correct side, comments please !!

On the drum went next with the spring and hilo in place.

Posted Image

The spring is slack at the moment due to no weight being on the corner but when the drum is forced up it tightens up nicely. Willl have to perfect a method of changing the wheel so the spring doesn't always go slack and cause problems.

Then a momentus occasion...

Couldn't resist lol. I think even if I don't get to paint I will have plenty to keep me occupied till it warms up again.

Regards,

Graham

Thanks fellas,

The white walls are plastic trims that just clip in. If I can get them out without breaking them I'm sure we can sort out a good deal !!

I looked in Haynes Muk, but not very clear. Thanks for the reassurance, Have torqued up and put the tight cap in place now lol. The hastle I am finding is finding all the bolts to put back or new ones to fit and the washers and split washers too. What a nightmare getting bits back on is lol !!

you probably have those in a box somewhere, full of bolts and washers you don't need..... backplate handbrake-leaver furthest away from heal-board

Hey Graham, just realised how long ago you started this thread. I have watched it from day one and not made a comment - sorry. Just sitting in the background admiring what you have done. Its a real credit to you a a brilliant source of inspiration for my slow progress. Many thanks for all these updates and good luck with the rest.

Thanks for the belated comment Mac lol. It has indeed dragged on but hope to be finished before Matthew is 30 ! painting is out for this year so I am trying to put the nuts and bolts back together, but finding it more difficult than I thought. One job done then you realise the job isn't quite right, (driveshafts on wrong side), so you have to redo before moving on. I'll get there tho, eventually !

Graham
