150bhp is big big money if you want to stay NA. could be done with a turo or big head 16v head etc etc but you are looking at about 5 grand i reckon

Joe, or any other bike engined mini owners, have any of you got, or considered a 'Trickshifter' to allow full throttle upshifts, it also puts in an automatic throttle blip on downshifts, so you can concentrate on braking etc..

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with them, or has considered one for their car.

Clicky

The Trickshifter can be found under 'products' in the above link.

Adam

I got one free with my engine!

Dean they do look good, but for the money you could buy something else for your project.

I realy did not notice any difference on the track at Oulton park. You can change up without the clutch as you probably know once your moving anyway.

It was only the first time in the Indy on track but still managed to pass a few cars and even got to lap a Westfield Mega Blade. :dontgetit:

But everyone has their own thoughts.

Ask Adrenalin Junky what he thought of the gear change when i took him out a couple of weeks ago, at night.

As Joe says, once moving the gear changes are sweet, by far smooth enough.... i'd comment on whether or not i thought you could change quicker/smoother with the trickshifter, but i was too busy grinning... that Indy Blade is incredible :dontgetit:

Just reasured me that i want the R1 mini :ermm: ^_^

what about changing down the gears......... companies are making these to so a smooth down change can be done, just wondering if anyone else has ever tried to set 1 up etc! and was it as smooth as they say!!! i mean how could they make the downshift any smoother?

Basically it removes the need for using the clutch to downshift. Therefore making it smoother and easier.

They have a cunning little vacuum controlled throttle blipper that replaces the idle adjuster screw. so when you downshift it blips the throttle a touch.

Z-cars have one on their monte carlo and Chris reckons its a great bit of kit.

I have one just haven't got around to fitting it yet.

Need to get a weekend at home to go at it! :dontgetit:

Ironically I was going to do it this weekend but am going to Korea instead now! :'(

No pic's mate.

Dean, if your ever up this way i will take you out in the Indy and give you a demo on the up and down shifts mate.
You will see then what i mean, how easy it is. There can only be milli seconds in it.

No charge for the ride. ^_^
