Ive got a gear indicator, that is what is pi**ing me off so much. It programmes fine and accepts all the gears, but anything above 2000rpm and it loses the gear, What chuffing use is that on a bike engine??

Your running an R1 engine, are you using the bike clocks?.

Right then you may have a problem, On the Indy i use a speedo healer to re calibrate the clocks so that the original clocks work fine now. Before this was fitted i had the same problem and i suppose it starts to flash all sorts up to.

I'm going to do the same on the Mini, it's got something to do with the pulse generated to make the original speedo work which also is connected some how to the rev's generated. :)

Obviously i don't know how the spa system works but they must have a help line you could get intouch with to help you out.

Hope that helped, sounds a bit gobbledi to me too. :D

I think the wires are connected to the coils (for revs) and gearbox wire (for speed). I tried all sorts of combinations for both, including swapping them over but nothing works. Do you think it is the signal from the gearbox which is problematic??? I cant connect to the ecu for the revs bcos i have the exup error which wont go away!! :'(

Glad you went out in your Mini mate, could be your last as your selling it eh. :o

Started to strp down the entire engine and rear suspension assembly. :withstupid:

What a task, but will be worth it in the end, going to paint it with some zinc spray then silver which we have at work goes on quite thick. :w00t: :withstupid: :-

Forgot how much work i've done on this as it's being stripped. Driveshafts, wishbones, hubs etc etc.

Couple of pic's of some bit's.

Hi Dale

Sorry to hi-jack thread welderman.

I'm keeping an eye on the development of a gear indicator for the R1 that won't be a comparitor version. It's currently undergoing the final tooling run and should hopefully be available very soon. Will keep you posted when I know any more.
