Good hear your staying in the mini scene, whats the engine spec. And are you sticking with the t3?

Yeah after driving my ZR i brought due to selling all the mini engine parts, ive noticed one thing.. its soo boring to drive prepared to the mini, (although it is reliable, smooth power delivery, brilliant on the motorway, etc etc..), This is quite bad and i should be put in prison for doing this but the mini has been left outside for over 5months now!!!, i even came close to selling it, mainly due to splitting up with my bird beacuse of me f**king about with the mini 24/7. But i have now brung the mini back in the workshop from saturday.

The engine & box are coming along quite quickly so fingers crossed it will be ready for ace cafe in May, then on to L2B, Still have to wire in the mpi tank i brought from TM but shouldent take to long, and loads of other things to do.

Brought a 'brand new' t3 turbo off ebay for £205 as the old one was 'proper fooooked!!

om nom nom, Im still going to use the t3 to start off with as you can still get brilliant power out of it, i dont really care how long i have to wait for it to kick in.

Wash the mini = P and how bad's insurance on the ZR? Been brought up with mg's (from a Q type replica to a ZS) and always fancied one.

Engine spec sounds good, should be a fair bit easier to drive without the lumpy cam, what sort of power are you aiming for?

If i could get somewhere around 170bhp at @20psi, i'd be happy, which should keep up with a few things , but thats obiously pushing the limits on the pistons, C/R is 8.5:1, but does have the intercooler, and high octane fuel, But wont be driving it on that boost all the time! . But somthing around 120bhp at 8-10psi would be daily.

Yeah should really wash it, its in a pretty bad state! The ZR cost's me 80quid a month on my dads insurance and i'm 19, but because its a ''van'' its ALOT cheaper than a normal ZR to insure

Got my x-pin diff and sc/cr gearset today from minispares, also got some 8mm cooper fuel lines too, so on saturday my old man will be building the gearbox while i start running all the fuel lines underneath and wire the mpi tank up. But going to take a few days off work next week to ge the bulkhead box fitted and put the engine in and maybe get it running.

Thought i'd do a quick update with some piccies, box is now fully built up with the new gearset and diff, didnt get s/c drops, but theres a few on turbo minis that have 170+ and have sheard, will have to see .

Both fuel lines are now in with the mpi tank, still need to wire it in though, engine is about 80% built up just needs the clutch to go on then its ready to go in pretty much, oh and just waiting for my gaskets to arrive from avonbar for the turrrbo, got the bulkhead box fitted aswell this saturday, think it turned out well, just needs to be tidy'd up with some paint. so this saturday or even before the engine will be going in, and maybe have it running by the following satuday. but does need a MOT and tax has ran out, but its not in to bad shape really, starting to get a fair bit of bubbling on the o/s rear window, and the bottom of the doors, but ill worry about that at a later date.

Theres also a change of colour for the roof and arches, its going to be MG x-power met grey. fancy a change really, and it needs new rear group 2 arches anyway as someone was having there mini too low . So wont be ready for L2B, but WILL be ready for ace cafe in june.

Its pretty clooooose!

Need to collect my plenum tomorrow which needed to be tig'd because im running an intercooler, need a couple bits from moss to and also pirtek for some chavvy blue hoses for the bleed valve and intercooler pipes, and then it shoould be pretty much ready to go in the hole!, still need to do a few more odd's and ends on the engine though.

Na dont think so mate, well july ace cafe yeah . Still needs a bit of work to get it through mot really. i'd say saturday it should be 99% ready as ive booked thursday and friday off work to ge it finished lol. you going ace on thursday?
