Did you get a tight fit between the scuttle and wing etc? I just borrowed my dads new wing and my seems to fit snug to the scuttle. I'm just trying to think how to best stop rust between the two panels after painting.

How's your car looking now? :)

Plenty of zinc rich primer in the seams, spot weld then add seam sealer is the proper way to do it.
Bending the lip on the scuttle to make sure it's nice and tight.
Also, you need the bonnet when your trial fitting the wings to get your gaps right

I thought you could only weld over weld through primer. Could be reading your post above wrong though.

Carlos. Do you lay the zinc primer in the seam mating surfaces before welding, and if so does it weld ok ?

Zinc primer is suitable and ideal to use as a weld through primer. Just spray it to all of the mating surfaces prior to welding.

Painted shock mount
And fitted
Painted inside the boot
And sorting the gap in the drivers door,
Getting there slowly.
I need to paint the inside of the car, and then fit the fuel and brake lines, then get the subframes on, but I can't afford the suspension parts at the moment
But I need to get the car onto its wheels

Great stuff mate, just read from start to finish and was gutted to get here and not see the finished paint job Will keep an eye out for it.
Inspired me to dig my old project out which I got as far as needing to build a spit, next thing I know it's 4 years later and you've done your entire build in the meantime!
Keep up the good work :)

All the inside is now in primer.
I need to get down there with the vacuum cleaner when the wife isn't looking and get it all cleaned out ready for the top coat.
I really need some funds to buy suspension parts before I can get it on wheels!
I'm considering painting it whilst it's still on the pallet then being ultra careful putting the engine in!
I'll hopefully get the top coat on Monday or Tuesday

Good man Carlos. Just popped on the forum to see what people are up to. Used to be on every day. Now once in a while. Your wee car is really coming on and its going to be lovely. Keep at it.
