Hahaha that amused me immenselyyeah at the mo im runnign a 5 port head to run the bottom end in and then once ive done that ill upgrade to my 7 port head and get it all set up and runnign at once to stop any issue of glazing the bores.
yeah its horrible to drive atm as its just so lumpy and i cant put and power down as im running it in.
oh and i managed to get a ride on a tow truck this morning :/
the bloody engine snapped my engine steady brack clean of at the bualk head. so got home got the welder out welded a heavy duty plate in its place, and fitted 3 more engine stedies, down side to this is that it vibrates so much, i dont like it much but im sure the misses will enjoy it.
outher than that ive just be driving all day trying to get some miles on it
oh and ive worked out why shes a bit smokey, when i used the head last i noticed valve seals were rubish, of course ive forgot to change them hence her smoking, so ill wait till riv has been as ill pick up a copper head gasket, and ill do it next week as i have a set of new valve seals in my room some were

ah well im looking forward to riv on friday, got a few things im looking for like

oil pressure fixings to the block
and maybe some bits to tidy the whole car up.
oh and i need a new exhaust manifold as mine was pants, and the micky mouse one i have fitted is a bit rought, looks like the car it was on before bottomed out as it has a few flat spots lol

ive decided on a nice 2 inc bore side exit twin back box system, and im having a freeflow exhaust made up to 1,7/8
not the end bit but the whole thing.
so with that fitted to the engine i should get a nice tourqy car when fitted, i like the free flow alot more as theres no silly y piece to leak air, every exhaust ive had has blown there, outher than the one i welded up, but that was distorted and didnt seal on the head propperly
live and learn lol
been trying to get my dash back in but its proving to be a night mare, i hate wiring grrrrr

so went to my mates and picked up teh tools to get teh valves out came hoem and tuck the head of.
1st probllem: head gasket has blown.
now i thought this might happen as wen i tourqued the 7 port head down i used this head gasket so i knew why it had blown.
2nd probllem: my block is cracked between 3 and 4. i dotn know how this has happened but im pritty annoyed with.
its like a hair line fracture, but im pritty upset thats its gone like this as ive been taking it slow and nursing the engine as its new
so yeah im pritty ready to throw in the towel

get the 1380 on the work bench and clean it up, or the 998 i tuck out is gonna turn in to one hello of a quick engine.
and if im honest i dont want to do either of them

been on the phone to mr pual inch for a lot of it, and then been chasing round engines that i might be able to use.
main thing is though car is back in the work shop with my trusty 998 i tuck out ready to go in bar a head gasget change, so gonna pull the 1293 out tomorrow and but my old 998 back in so im still on the road.
pual said if i can get the broken engine and a new block to him hell sort that probllem out, and then fingers crossed by end of june time my 7 port engine will be up and running and rolling roaded and producing some lovley horses
ill keep this updated though.
like my special order exhaust manifold turned up today, better late than never, hay ho lol

lots of good news, managed to get my hands on a 1275 engine, its in bits which is good, but means im gonna have a spare crank gear box and clutch and belll houysing and all that which im propper happy with, ive had to let go of my big bore cylinderhead and weber, but it gets me one step closser to getting my engine built up and getting were i want to be which is 7 port power.
so there dropping the block of this monday coming

so ive decided im gonna start smartening the car up, boots is rough so gonna take tank out and spray it all up inside.
plus i need to sort out why my engine sounds so horrible and the massive lack of power even for a 998, think its somethign to do with the dizzy and maybe the exhaust is blowing slightly plus the exhaust gasket i used was a big bore one so that could be somethign to do with it.
plus side only got 2 more days at work as im on a first aid course.
and i must say its flippin wicked fun.
spent day and half in teh class room learnign stuff. and then most of today, doing exersises, so half the class were first aiders, and the outehr half casultys, and we did a car crash with a mini

and i got 2 more days of doing it

will update with pics at the weekend
